🚨THIS BAR REALLY ANNOYED ME🚨
📍The Boston Bar, Edinburgh
Right guys, so next up is a reasonably new “Irish” bar that’s opened in Edinburgh and I’d seen a few pictures from here recently that didn’t look great, so when I was passing last weekend, I thought I’d pop in and give it a go……
It was as bad as I’d seen in other photos and the bar automatic tipping policy irritated me, read down and r see what I mean 😭
First off, the pints were a bubbly mess!! Both myself and Mr GDG had one and both had horrible bubbly heads (which tells me they don’t care as both were served like this) 🙄
Secondly, the initial taste was awful, really metallic and sort of dry!! It’s hard to explain but the pint made my mouth dry, it was so weird!! It did improve taste wise (slightly) as I went down the pint, which is why it got a 3/10 😳
Now what did annoy me about this place and if anyone feels differently, then let me know, but 3% is automatically added as a tip for each pint ordered at the bar!! We aren’t in America and I think tips should be given for good service and good quality drinks - the drink quality here was shocking!! The bar guy was lovely, but it’s just not something you do in Scotland
You could ask for it to be removed, but I hadn’t noticed the sign until after I’d paid for it? 🙄
We aren’t in the USA, so don’t see how this has become a thing? I’ve never seen it anywhere else (not even London) 🙄
Anyway, it was an expensive and rubbish pint, but the bar was good (aside from the tip thing) 🙄
