We had a great walk around Little Germany and Bradford City Centre today. Wendy and friends came from Steel City (Sheffield) for a stay in the Wool Capital of the World. As they are all retired teachers I thought a picture of them by the Statue of Forster, whose 1870 Education Act made primary schooling a national responsibility would be appropriate.

A busy 2 days with the Heritage Network who had their annual Conference in Bradford from the 28th-30th September. Here are the delegates we took round in Hustlergate, Bradford. The weather was great and we are just about to go into the magnificent Wool Exchange now Waterstones Bookshop in the centre of the city.

Sunday was a busy day with 2 tours of Bradford's Jewish Heritage and Little Germany for the Heritage Network who are holding their annual conference in Bradford. We had some spare time so I took some of the delegates to see this broken Hattersley's loom which is a memory of a Mill's Textile Industry - but which mill is it? We had a walk in Bradford with the IHBC who held their AGM in the city. On our walk we came across a jazz band playing at the Tower of Now. It was a great end to a good day!

Colleagues from the BBC World Service were in Bradford today. We did some filming at the synagogue and then went to the Sweet Centre for Chai and Pakoras and then onto the Bombay Stores. I left them at the University for their next meeting.

The Falk brothers came to Steel City (Sheffield) for a Roots Trip. They had come from London and Boston USA. We visited sites across the city including the old family homestead and the cemetery where family members are buried. Roots Trips are great fun - they take time to organise but are always worthwhile.
