🧳 LET’S TALK SUITCASES… HOW DO YOU PACK? 😂

I feel like everyone has a completely different holiday packing personality, so I need to know where you sit on this one…

How far in advance do you start packing?

Are you:
✈️ Suitcase out two weeks before, outfits planned and checklist ready
😅 Chucking things in the night before
🚨 Still looking for your passport while everyone else is waiting in the car?

I’m definitely a planner when it comes to going away. Usually about a week before, I’ve got my checklist going, I’m mentally planning outfits, checking what the kids need and slowly getting everything together.

Because travelling with kids is basically packing for a small expedition. 😂

Then there’s the big question…

When you ARRIVE, do you unpack your suitcase?

With the kids — 100% YES. Immediately.

I need to know where the pyjamas are.
Where the nappies are.
Where the swimming stuff is.
Where the 847 things I apparently needed to bring for everyone are. 😂

Everything gets unpacked and organised because otherwise I’ll spend the entire holiday shouting “WHO HAS SEEN THE SUNCREAM?!”

But travelling without the kids?

Completely different person. 😂

Why unpack? The suitcase is right there. Clothes are in it. I know where they are. Seems like an unnecessary extra job to me. 🤷‍♀️

And then… we come home.

Suddenly the woman who made a checklist, organised everyone’s clothes and unpacked the cases within 20 minutes of arriving on holiday has disappeared.

The suitcase comes into the house.

And sits there.

And sits there.

I’ll take out the important bits. Toiletries. Chargers. Dirty washing when absolutely necessary…

But completely unpacking it?

Could genuinely take me TWO WEEKS. 😂

Apparently holiday-me loves organisation and home-me believes the suitcase will eventually unpack itself.

So I need to know…

🧳 How early do you pack before a holiday?
🏨 Do you unpack when you arrive or live straight out of the suitcase?
🏠 And MOST importantly… how long does the suitcase sit there when you get home?

Please tell me I’m not the only one who can organise an entire family holiday but somehow cannot face putting one suitcase away. 😂

🌞 I’m back! 🌞

After an amazing family adventure, it’s time to swap flip-flops for holiday quotes! 😅

This year we drove all the way to the Netherlands 🇳🇱, spending 7 nights at Eurocamp De Flaasbloem before finishing with 3 magical nights at Efteling… and I have to say… I think we loved it even more than Disneyland! 🤫✨

The whole place felt like stepping into a real-life fairytale. The queues were so much more manageable, there was genuinely something for every age, and everyone had the best time.

I’m especially proud of my 10-year-old, who conquered Baron 1898 🎢 (I don’t know where she gets her bravery from! 😂). Meanwhile, the toddler was in heaven with the gentle rides, carousels and magical little attractions, and the older kids were never bored for a second.

If you’ve never considered Efteling for a family holiday, I’d honestly recommend putting it on your list! ❤️

Now I’m back at work and catching up on all your messages. During the school holidays I’m juggling work around looking after the children, so if replies take a little longer than usual, thank you so much for your patience. I’ll get back to everyone as quickly as I can.
