Phill & Polly live, work and play in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains of mid Wales. We have over 20 years guiding experience in both the UK and Europe, and our knowledge and experience of Wales will ensure you have an amazing mountain biking adventure across one of Britain's last remaining wild landscapes. We're ideally situated to guide you across Wales along the Trans Cambrian Way (our speciality), explore the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons to the south, or the stunning Snowdonia National Park to the north. The Elan Valley is also a favourite of ours, and its large expanse of open land and excellent bridleways offer riders a true wild and remote adventure at every twist and turn along the trail. The forest centres at Nant Yr A***n, Coed Y Brenin and the Dyfi Forest also have excellent trail heads and are a great day out if you don't want to look at a map. However just a pedal stroke away are a network of off piste single-track trails that offer the seasoned trail rider so much more. All our weekends include great accommodation, food, guiding and transfers, and give you a real flavour of mid Wales life along your journey. A wonderful half term spin with my girls over at Coed Y Brenin this week. Minor Taur and Pink Heifer were the trails of choice from Izzie, both running really well in beautiful autumn sunshine.

You forget that PH is over 2k in length, no wonder our arms ached a little after! Super fun as ever.

Great to see other riders, walkers and runners enjoying the forest, and everything crossed for some good news from in mid December.

It was a wild and windy Sunday funday on day two of our Elan Valley Autumn Epic. The rain passed through during the night from leaving a very blustery day in the valley.

Black Cottage descent was fantastic, as was the view, and Rhydoldog was running super fast too.

Thanks to everyone for joining us this weekend, great banter on and off the bike. Never a dull moment! Andrea, Taylor and Jack for keeping us fed and watered, always a treat.

We won’t be back in the valley until March 2027 when we kick off the season with our spring epic.

Today’s Elan Valley Autumn Epic went swimmingly 🫣 with Al, Ben and Joe all earning a swimming badge too.

With battering the valley, we made the most of the moist conditions and a fun day slipping and sliding our way around. This kind of weather isn’t everyone’s idea of fun, but luckily it was everyone’s type of fun who’s joined us this weekend.

Time to dry out and enjoy a well earned b**r or two!

2027 Trans Cambrian Way tour dates are now available to book!

Join us for a fully-guided, 3-day mountain biking experience along the Trans Cambrian Way – a 106-mile (approx. 175km) epic that traverses the remote Cambrian Mountains, the oldest mountain range in Europe.

Starting in Knighton on the English border and finishing at Machynlleth in the Dyfi Valley, this route offers big climbs (around 13,000ft in total), wild landscapes, and the kind of unforgettable riding only Mid Wales can offer.

This isn’t just a ride – it’s a journey through our backyard. We live, work, and play on this trail every day from our home base at The Lodge, Staylittle. Our local knowledge, combined with warm Welsh hospitality, great food, and handpicked B&Bs, makes this the ultimate MTB experience.

A to autumn in the Elan Valley, and the trees at Nantgwyllt were a little shorter! Back then it showed Nikki Whiles vision snaking its way down to the chapel. Sooo much fun to ride whether it’s halfway through one of our epic days, or just a quick up and down session from the car park.

Still 1 or 2 spaces left for our autumn weekend on October 23-25.

It was our last Trans Cambrian Way tour of ‘26 last week, with Chipps & Huw (the model) holding the reins on a very autumnal crossing of mid Wales.

The weather was in most parts very dry and sunny, even on the morning of day one when it was wet and wild up on the hill at The Lodge, Staylittle it didn’t look promising to be honest. Luckily it was dry and sunny at the start in Knighton. Whoop whoop.

Day two was glorious, Cwm Elan at its finest, with B&J on fine form at the half way water stop. Prawn cocktails at the Bluebell were in high demand too, a very happy Chipps.

Sunday was a little misty and damp, making the final push for Mach a little slippy, with a few rests on the ground here and there!!

Thanks to everyone for joining us, particularly John and Britney from Boston in the US. Huw for his motivational speeches, Chipps for keeping it real.
