Who else is a hammock person? 💤🐾

Tried to enjoy a peaceful moment in the new hammock…
but Harry had other ideas 😆

(He’s convinced it’s a two-dog minimum zone)

It got me thinking…

I’m playing with the idea of offering a campervan to rent from Mid Wales Holidays and I’d love to hear your dream destinations!

🐾 All dogs welcome, not just the gundogs!

We might run gundog holidays here too, but when it comes to our holiday lets, all breeds, shapes, sizes, and sniffers are welcome 💛

Whether you’ve got a speedy terrier, a dignified poodle, a scruffy rescue mutt, or a bouncy cockerpoo who thinks they’re part duck they’ll love it here.

With 15 acres of private fields, woodland, ponds and plenty of sniffs to explore, it’s a proper dog paradise. And we’ve got comfy cottages, dog-friendly facilities, and a warm welcome for the humans too.

🚐✨ An idea I’m playing with… yes another one 🤣

I’ve been toying with the idea of when I get this campervan I could also rent it out, something cosy, dog-friendly, and kitted out for proper countryside adventures.

But not just the van…

I’d love to offer it with:
🗺️ A suggested route through Snowdonia
⛺ Campsite recommendations
📍 My favourite dog-friendly stop-offs
🐾 And tips for travelling with dogs in tow!

It would be a simple way to explore without needing to plan it all from scratch a kind of ready-made Welsh road trip. Also a try before you buy?

You could extend your trip by using my holiday lets too before or after the campervan experience.

Bringing a dog or two to train during your stay? 🐾

You’re more than welcome to head up into our stunning mountain ground, as its private ground I will need to take take you up there (sometimes with my own dog in tow 😊), so enquire if I'm around.

I absolutely love it up there. The views, the peace, the space — it’s one of my favourite places to train and just be.

Sometimes I’ll come along with a small group and join in, or if you’d prefer, I can teach a session while we’re up there. It’s all relaxed, low-key, and tailored to what you and your dog need.

Just let me know if you fancy it during your stay I’m always up for a fun 4x4 drive and a bit of training in good company.

Freshly cut, picture perfect 🌾📸

The fields are now cut and baled — and they’ve made the most beautiful backdrop for our recent Gundog holiday photo shoot with Darryl Owen Photography.

There’s something special about this time of year… golden bales, wide open space, and dogs loving every minute of it.

Staff outing chaos, dog edition 🎬🐾

We took a little trip to Llyn Clywedog for some fresh air and a paddle, Gemma thought it’d be lovely to bring Spook along…

Except Spook had other ideas 😅
He was determined the buoys were just really far-out big balls waiting to be retrieved.

Safe to say, he kept us all entertained!

Something new is nearly ready…
We’re putting the finishing touches on our brand-new studio space and we can’t wait to open it up!

This light-filled barn conversion will soon be available to hire as:

🪑 A studio or meeting room for small groups, planning days or creative sessions
🧘‍♀️ An add-on space for retreat or workshop bookings, think photography, artist, yoga, well-being ….
🐾 A chill-out or communal space for guests attending our Gundog holidays and Dog Trainer Business Retreats.

With a new balcony (glass instead of railings going in soon) and double doors opening out to views over the woods and mountains, it’s the perfect setting for quiet thinking, collaboration, or simply soaking up the peaceful surroundings.

It’s not accommodation yet, just a beautiful, flexible room for you to use and enjoy. We do have a toilet and shower block just outside and it will have basic kitchen facilities too.

Elan Valley — just wow.

If you’re staying with us, Elan Valley is one of those places you have to visit. Just a short drive from the cottages and packed with beauty in every direction.

Dams, reservoirs, waterfalls, woodland walks, and epic views around every bend — it’s one of our favourite local spots for a wander, a picnic, or a proper full-day hike.

The light there is something else, especially early morning or late evening — perfect for photos, peace, and perspective.

Bring your boots, your dog, and your flask. You won’t regret it.
