Big airport change you may need to know before your next trip…
What does it mean?
Birmingham and Edinburgh airports have installed new 3D scanners, so:
- You no longer need to take liquids out of your bag
- Containers up to 2 litres are now allowed (vs the old 100ml limit)
- No need for clear plastic bags
- Laptops and tablets can stay in your hand luggage
BUT - this is not the case at all UK or overseas airports yet.
Why could it impact your summer travel? ⚠️
If you're departing from one airport with new rules, but returning through another without, you’ll need to follow both sets of rules.
This could lead to delays, confiscated items, or confusion at security.
Many travellers aren’t aware the rules differ from airport to airport, especially abroad.
Quick Tip:
Before you pack, check both your outbound and inbound airport rules, or speak to your travel concierge (that’s me 👋) and I’ll make sure you’re all set.
