Some views are almost impossible to take in. 🏔️

In Alaska, vast valleys, winding rivers and dramatic mountain ranges stretch as far as the eye can see. The sheer sense of space is hard to put into words — it’s something you really have to experience for yourself.

For our travel specialists, Alaska remains one of North America’s most remarkable destinations. Not only for its landscapes, but for its peace, stillness and feeling of being right on the edge of the world.

Ready to experience Alaska’s incredible wilderness for yourself? Get in touch with our travel specialists to start planning your tailor-made holiday.

Alaska is one of the last true wildernesses on Earth. 🏔️

Travel specialist Alain recently explored this remarkable state, discovering snow-capped mountains, vast forests and scenery that stops you in your tracks.

From the dramatic landscapes of Denali National Park to the characterful town of Talkeetna, Alaska offers a real sense of scale and adventure. 🚗❄️

Film fans may recognise the bus in the photos, a nod to 'Into the Wild' - a story that continues to inspire travellers to experience Alaska for themselves.

Peaceful coastal roads, historic buildings and sweeping views across the Bay of Fundy – St Andrews is made for slowing down.

Travel specialist Markus recently visited this charming New Brunswick town, where days drift between whale watching, fresh seafood and gentle walks along the waterfront. 🦀🐋

Looking out towards Maine, it’s a lovely addition to a Canada and New England road trip.

Mauricie National Park 🇨🇦

Set in the heart of Québec, this national park is known for its vast forests, crystal-clear lakes, and quiet walking trails – the sort of place where you can truly slow down and experience Canada at its most authentic.

Our colleague Markus visited in spring, when the landscape was just beginning to come back to life. From kayaking across still lakes to walking through peaceful woodland and spotting wildlife along the way, Mauricie offers a window into a wonderfully calm side of Canada. 🌲

One of the highlights is the scenic parkway, with several lookout points along the route. And in autumn, during the famous Indian Summer, the forests transform into a stunning patchwork of red, gold, and orange. 🍁

There’s plenty to discover beyond the park too. Markus especially recommends visiting a traditional cabane à sucre, where you can learn more about maple syrup production and, of course, sample some for yourself.

🇨🇦 Welcome to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia - one of Canada’s prettiest coastal towns. 🇨🇦

This colourful UNESCO-listed harbour town is full of maritime charm, historic streets, and memorable ways to experience the great outdoors.

Our travel specialist Markus explored the wild Atlantic coastline around Lunenburg by kayak, taking in the LaHave Islands from a whole new perspective. Think hidden coves, quiet beaches, and countless little islands scattered across the water. 🛶

Back on dry land, a guided walk through Lunenburg is a brilliant way to uncover the town’s seafaring past, with stories of fishing, sailing, and its rich cultural heritage. 🐚

And there’s plenty nearby too. Peggy’s Cove, with its famous lighthouse, and the lively city of Halifax are both within easy reach for a day trip.

Adventure, history, and dramatic coastal scenery - Nova Scotia rather has it all. 🐟

Austin: Texas, But With A Twist 🎸

Austin has a personality all of its own.

Expect live music spilling out of small bars, a brilliant food truck scene and proper Texas barbecue worth loosening your belt for.

Known as the “Live Music Capital of the World”, Austin has music on almost every corner, from country and blues to indie and rock. 🎶

And when you fancy a breather, nature is never far away. Kayak on Lady Bird Lake, catch the sunset from a viewpoint or slow things down in one of the city parks.

An essential stop on a road trip through the Deep South. 🇺🇸

Ottawa: history, politics and local flavour 🏛️🇨🇦

Alain’s final stop in Eastern Canada was Ottawa, Canada’s capital. Think grand buildings, rich history and a surprisingly relaxed feel.

It’s not just about the sights here, but the stories behind them. At weekends, you can join a free tour of the Parliament buildings, while during the week you may be able to watch Canadian politics from the public gallery.

Alain rounded off his visit with a food tour led by local owner Flavia, a brilliant way to discover another side of the city. 🥘🍛

After Montréal, our travel specialist Alain travelled on to Québec City, a place that feels like a little slice of Europe in Canada 🇨🇦🏙️

On a guided walk with a local, charming streets, historic buildings and iconic viewpoints took on a whole new meaning, the stories behind each place bringing the city to life.

With its European feel and unmistakably Canadian setting, Québec City is made for slow wandering and unexpected discoveries.

Discovering Montréal: French charm with Canadian heart 😍🇨🇦

The first stop on our travel specialist Alain’s journey through Canada was Montréal, a city where old-world character and North American energy come together.

To really get beneath the surface of the city, Alain joined a walking tour with a local guide. This is the kind of experience that changes the way you see a place; suddenly, every street, square and historic building has a story behind it.

As he explored the city, Montréal’s creative spirit was impossible to miss. One standout moment was seeing the famous Leonard Cohen mural, a tribute to one of the city’s most beloved residents.

But Montréal isn’t only made for exploring on foot. For a completely different perspective, Alain climbed into a classic Cadillac and cruised through the city streets – a brilliant and slightly unexpected way to experience Montréal.

The best part? When you travel with us, we can arrange experiences like these as part of your tailor-made holiday.

🌿 Enrich your journey with locally guided experiences.

Alongside your route and accommodation, we help you to incorporate activities that take you beyond the main sights. Think a walk with a local guide who knows the area inside out, spotting wildlife with someone who knows where to look, and learning more about everyday life and local culture.

These are often the moments that make a trip truly unforgettable. You’re not just seeing a place; you get a better understanding of it. Stories, insights and small encounters make a real difference. 🌲

We tailor these experiences to your route and interests, so they fit in easily. No big groups, just small-scale options that suit how you like to travel.

Want to see what’s possible for your trip? We’re happy to help.
