Little America is the United Kingdom arm of TravelEssence - a New Zealand and Australia travel specialist that was launched in 2006 by New Zealander, Andrew Morten. From there, Little America was founded in 2018 to craft custom journeys just for you to Canada and the United States. Beginning in the Netherlands, TravelEssence has become a leading travel specialist for bespoke journeys. Providing small-scale, hand-selected accommodation and personal activities, all tailored into wonderful and perfectly organised journeys.

Have you heard of Canada’s Sunshine Coast? 🌊

While the Rocky Mountains and Vancouver Island often steal the spotlight, there's another part of British Columbia that's well worth adding to your itinerary. Just a short ferry ride from Vancouver, the Sunshine Coast is home to charming harbour villages, secluded coves and beautiful coastal scenery. Carol only planned to spend a few days on Quadra Island. Today, she calls it home. 🌿

It all started with a short holiday. Carol Perry and her husband first spent two nights on this small island off the coast of British Columbia. Their next visit lasted four nights, then a whole week. By their fourth visit, they'd fallen so in love with the island that they bought a house and decided to stay!

Today, Carol welcomes guests to her farm, surrounded by woodland and meadows. Goats, chickens, ducks and pigs are all part of daily life here, along with a friendly Labrador who's never shy about announcing his presence. 🐾

These are exactly the kinds of places we love at Little America. 🐎 Discover the Canadian Rockies on horseback 🏔️

Picture yourself waking up on a small, family-run ranch in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. The morning mist is lifting, the grass is still covered in dew, and the mountains are slowly coming into view. Your local host has recommended exploring the surrounding wilderness on horseback, so you saddle up and set off.

As you ride further into the wilderness, the ranch disappears behind you. Towering forests give way to open landscapes, with snow-capped peaks rising in the distance.
