Not Always – Here’s How to Avoid Being Turned Away
Many premium bank cards and current accounts now include access to airport lounges worldwide, regardless of the cabin you are flying in. It is a brilliant perk and, understandably, a big draw when choosing a new card or account.
However, what is often overlooked is that lounge access is not guaranteed simply by holding the card.
Lounges have strict capacity limits. They must prioritise passengers flying in premium cabins and those who have pre-booked. If the lounge is already at capacity when you arrive, walk-ins via card schemes can be declined, even if lounge access is listed as a benefit of your card.
This happens most often:
During peak holiday seasons
On early morning departures
Around major bank holidays and long weekends
