Say hello to our latest Sri Lanka specialists 👋

Nancy and Poppy had both fallen for the island on their own backpacking travels, but we sent them back to experience the island with the ETG edge.

The newest name on our Sri Lanka Hotel Hotlist 🌱

is perched high in the hills above Ella, overlooking the curved Nine Arch Bridge. And what a setting it is.

ETG's newest Sri Lanka specialists, Nancy and Poppy were blown away: rating it the best hotel of their whole trip.

Here’s what they'd tell you:
🌄 The villas are slick and modern: each one makes the most of the valley views with its own jacuzzi and vast windows.
👨‍👩‍👧 If you’re travelling with family, ask for Villas 11 and 12.
🍛 Eat outside at least once; the verandah looks out over the plantations. The kitchen cooks both Sri Lankan and Western dishes, and it gets both bang on.
🥾 Get out into the hills on a tea tour, with one of Uga's great naturalists, or along the Pekoe Trail (an ETG favourite).
🏊 Back at the hotel, unwind by the pool or in the spa.
🍸 End the day with a nightcap in the main bar.

Here’s what you need to know:

🌄 Trust us on this: a room with a view is non-negotiable. The Mountain View suites are great, but if the Temple View Heritage Suite's available, go for it. It has the biggest balcony and the absolute best view.

👨‍👩‍👦 Travelling with family? Book the Mountain View twin connected to a king for the perfect layout.

☁️ Sit outside in the evening and look across to Mount Phou Si; it honestly feels like you’re floating in the air. (Top tip: ask about their 500-candle dinner for an extra special night).

💛 You’ll love the mountain-facing infinity pool, the open-air spa that smells like fresh lemongrass, and the free bikes to ride into town (it’s only 2 km away).

An Evening of Sri Lankan Art & Architecture presented by Experience Travel Group together with ARTRA Magazine & ARTRA in London on Tuesday, the 20th of October was a roaring success in gathering stakeholders from the travel industry in launching ARTRA x ETG Exclusive Art Experiences in promotion of Sri Lankan Art Tourism & ARTRA’s Island Gallery, with the aim of broadening art consumption and audiences outside of the art industry while characterizing Sri Lanka’s persona through Modern & Contemporary Art

The post-trip debrief is one of the best parts of our day.

Chione, our Vietnam specialist, caught up with Kathryn to see which hotel was her favourite.

She replied: "This is difficult because we had some great stays. Probably the top spot goes to Little Riverside in Hoi An. The location, the rooftop pool and the amazing staff were memorable. Our room was spacious and had a great view of the river."
