Built along the narrow Motu Ome'e, the resort has water on both sides, the turquoise lagoon cradling one edge and the royal blue ocean bordering the other. It genuinely does feel like a fantasy island.

The views are hard to beat too, with Mount Otemanu rising in the distance and white sand with coconut palms right outside your door.

Alongside the overwater bungalows there are garden villas with private plunge pools, and 90 villas in total across the 44-acre site 🌴

The St. Regis Butler Service is the real differentiator though. Anything, anytime, just dial 9 and it happens.

Start in Arusha before heading to Tarangire National Park, famous for its huge elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, with lion, leopard and giraffe also roaming 🐘

Next it is on to Karatu on the edge of the Ngorongoro Highlands, then into the Serengeti itself, stopping at a Maasai village along the way for a real glimpse into traditional life. You can choose between spacious Melaleuca pavilions or private pool villas, and both feel wonderfully calm and considered. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring the outside in, so you are never far from those garden and sea views.

The bathrooms are a real highlight. Expect expansive marble, dual wash basins, a curtained shower alcove, and a raised terrazzo soaking tub for two 🛁

Every room comes with the lovely touches too, the signature Four Seasons bed, Yukata robes and slippers, locally sourced organic toiletries, a Nespresso machine and a fully stocked bar.

The overwater villas are where the collection begins 🌊

Each one is a generous 100m², above the lagoon with its own private plunge pool and sun deck, so every stay starts out over the water.

The island itself is shaped like a traditional Maldivian dhoni boat, with coconut palms and sandy lanes winding through it, barefoot island living at its most best 🌴

It sits in the North Ari Atoll near three of the finest dive sites in the Maldives, with exceptional snorkelling right on the house reef.

Add in fine Asian dining at Jing, a sushi bar, a poolside grill, the U Spa by Constance, and a kids' club, and it works beautifully for couples and families alike.

Not many hotels can say the Rat Pack used them as a HQ, but the Fontainebleau can 🌴

Sinatra and co made it their base in the Fifties, Whitney Houston filmed The Bodyguard here, and it turned up in Goldfinger too. A $1 billion restoration has put it firmly back on the map.

The iconic marble bow-tie entrance and three chandeliers are still there, along with the neon-lit Bleau Bar in the lobby 🍸

Then there is LIV, one of the hottest nightclubs in Miami. Fair warning though, the door is notoriously tough, so book bottle service or tickets in advance.

Eight restaurants, a huge poolscape with butler-served cabanas, and eight miles of beach right outside.

It is split into four neighbourhoods, each named after Greek island complexes and inspired by the light and colours of Santorini. The suites and villas are designed with sustainability in mind, giving the whole place a relaxed, carefree summer home feel.

The location is spot on too, just 350 metres from the village centre via the hotel's own private path, and 20 minutes from Santorini airport.

For experiences, there is plenty to choose from, sailing trips, helicopter tours, diving, kayaking, horse riding, and even photo tours to capture those iconic views 📸

The food is a highlight, with pure, authentic Greek flavours served as the sun sets over the Aegean, plus a lovely spa, pools, and poolside bars to enjoy in between.
