Covering Vancouver, Vancouver Island, Whistler & Sun Peaks, the holiday was tailor-made by me to meet their exact requirements, from the style of accommodation to opportunities to see wildlife in its natural habitat. I also arranged their car-hire and ferry-crossings, as well as bear- and whale-watching trips.

𝟐𝟒 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲

I’ve wanted to visit Pondicherry for as long as I can remember.
This exotic, enthralling and bustling former French colony is located on the Bay of Bengal in the south east of India.

We set off from our heritage hotel with a city rickshaw tour to get our bearings and see the main areas including the old French colonial Quarter, the secret streets of the Arab Quarter and the hustling businesses of the Tamil Quarter. This city has been a melting pot since Greco-Roman times.

Our tour included a visit to the flower market, which is a must-see for scent and abundance of jasmine (3 types), marigold and rose which are mostly used to make garlands for welcoming guests and which women like to wear in their hair.

After a quick pit stop at Le Café on the promenade, we set off for a spot of shopping - the shopping here is eclectic and warrants half a day at least!

Dinner was a fun fusion affair with live music at .pondicherry.

𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐌𝐁𝐀𝐋 & 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐇𝐈 🇮🇳

After leaving Agra, we enjoyed some respite in the deep countryside of Chambal about one hour away.

Staying at , an eco-lodge with a focus on sustainability and old-school service, this is a welcoming and traditional property which is perfect for unwinding and discovering the region’s wild- and bird-life.

While there we discovered Holipura Heritage Village, an estate of beautiful 300-year old havelis which are mostly left abandoned by their owners who live abroad but who return regularly. As always, the local children took us under their wing to show us around their deeply atmospheric village.

Back in New Delhi and for the end of our tour, we explored the ‘Lutyens Delhi’ of wide boulevards, expansive bungalows, city monuments and the final residence of Mahatma Gandhi.& the place where he was brutally assassinated.

𝐉𝐀𝐈𝐏𝐔𝐑 & 𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐀

Floating palaces, majestic forts and master craftsmen…

Jaipur is known for all of the above as well as its jewels, artistry and as a centre of learning. 48 hours here allowed me just a small taste of all that is to be discovered. I’ll be back!

Onwards to Agra and its masterpiece Taj Mahal. A building which is symbolic of the love one man had for his wife, this monumental white marble mausoleum is, truly, breathtaking.

Local village life was vibrant, friendly and authentically charming.

𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐇𝐈 & 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐌𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊

We’ve just spent a whirlwind 4 days in Delhi & Ranthambore National Park.

Upon arrival in Delhi, we visited Qutub Minar, the oldest mosque in India and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

After lunch at our hotel, we saw community action at work with a tour of Old Delhi (havelis & spice market) guided by Kailash and Sanju from the Salaam Balak Trust, which houses and educates former street children.

6 hours south of Delhi lies the beautiful Ranthambore National Park, where we enjoyed a Jeep safari looking for tiger, leopard, sloth bear, hyenas, wolves and many other types of native wildlife. September isn’t the best time to view game following the summer monsoons (better to come between October and April) so the tigers stayed well hidden!

Next stop in what is known as ‘India’s Golden Triangle’ is the Pink City of Jaipur!

My honeymooners have returned from their twin centre stay in Mauritius 🇲🇺

Experiencing the north and the south of the island allowed them to explore this beautiful island fully while also having time to RELAX!
