Once it’s back in play, our Corinth flotilla can run the full route from the Gulf of Corinth into the Saronic, with that unique canal transit on the final sailing day.

Happy World Sailing Day ⚓️

Today we’re celebrating our favourite thing in the world.

The sea gives us so much. Adventure, connection, freedom, unforgettable moments, and because of that, protecting it matters deeply to us.

Sailing allows us to travel while relying less on fuel than many other forms of travel, but we also know there’s always more we can do. That’s why sustainability has become such an important focus for us in recent years, and why we work closely with our friends at Sustainable Sailing Greece to help encourage more environmentally conscious practices within the sailing community here in Greece.

Here’s to many more years of sailing, exploring, and protecting the waters that make it all possible. 💙

Nikiana is one of those holidays where you can do quite a lot, or very happily do not too much at all.

There’s sailing, windsurfing, SUPs, kayaking, and RYA tuition if you want to spend proper time on the water.

There’s also a pool, a taverna, a small friendly club setup, and the village of Nikiana right there when you want a wander, a drink, or dinner somewhere different.

So no, it doesn’t have to be full-on.

‣ You can learn something new.
‣ You can get back into dinghy sailing.
‣ You can paddle about in the morning and sit with a cold drink later.
‣ You can do the lot, or pick your moments.

That’s probably what makes it work so well.

It’s active, but not intense.
Social, but not forced.
Relaxed, but not boring.

A proper Ionian beach club week, basically.

The Kefalonia flotilla has a good rhythm to it.

You’re sailing in the Ionian, so yes, there are swim stops, harbour evenings, blue water and tavernas...

But the week also has movement. Some days feel relaxed. Some give you a proper sail. Some stops are all about the harbour. Others are more about the bay, the swim, or the beach party.

The flotilla runs from Aghia Eufimia on two alternating routes. One explores Kefalonia and Ithaka, with places such as Vathi, Fiskardo, Assos and Polis Bay in the mix. The other heads towards Zante, with stops such as Zakynthos Town, Aghios Nikolaos and Sami.

There’s free sailing time built in too, so you get space to shape part of the week yourself, with the lead crew nearby for briefings, weather updates and route advice.

It’s independent Ionian sailing, with support close enough when you want it.

Kefalos is one of those places that just makes sense for windsurfing.

You’ve got a wide sandy beach, a sheltered bay, warm weather, and the kind of afternoon breeze that tends to make everyone suddenly look a lot more interested.

Mornings are usually calmer, which is handy if you’re learning, trying wing foiling, going out on a SUP, or just easing into the day.

Then later on, the wind often builds, and that’s when things get fun.

The centre has a proper range of windsurfing and foiling equipment too, so you’re not stuck with one board all week. You can change things up depending on the conditions, your level, and how brave you’re feeling as you go.

It’s simple really: good wind, good kit, plenty of space, and the beach right there.

A week sailing in Greece, currently starting at £100?

Yes, really.

The RNLI is currently auctioning a one-week flotilla holiday on our Ionian Kefalonia route, with all proceeds going directly to the charity.

You’ll be sailing the Zante Route, which means quiet Kefalonian harbours, time out on the water, Zakynthos evenings, smaller northern bays and a week that changes pace as you go.

Depending on the winning bid, it could end up being incredible value for a week in the Ionian.

More importantly, every penny raised supports the RNLI’s lifesaving work.

The thing experienced windsurfers notice first is the bay 🌊
Sheltered, oriented so the thermal pulls afternoon breeze in even when the forecast says otherwise.

That's why Kefalos, on the south-western tip of Kos, has been on windsurfers' radar for years. The Meltemi rolls in reliably from July to mid-September, force four to six most afternoons.

Mornings stay glassy, which is exactly what wing foilers want when they're starting out and exactly what advanced riders want when conditions fill in later.

We’ve just wrapped up our first week of the season at Nikiana Beach Club in Lefkas.

And of course, we finished the week the same way we do every Saturday morning. With a regatta.

Guests and team out on the water together, a bit of friendly competition, and a very good way to end the week.
