🎬🍿 A night at the movies in Louth!

One of the lovely things about staying at The Woodlands Holiday Cottages is having Louth just a few minutes up the road.

We popped into Louth’s wonderfully small and quaint cinema, which has been serving the town since 1921. ❤️

We watched Pressure — and we would certainly recommend it! 🎥👏

It’s a lovely way to spend an evening, especially after a day exploring the Lincolnshire Wolds or the coast.

And from The Woodlands? Only around 5 minutes away by car. 🚗

We absolutely love receiving feedback like this. ❤️

Jill and her party stayed with us at Wren’s Retreat and gave us 5 stars across the board ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“Brilliant cottage. Super clean and comfortable… Secure garden for dogs and lovely safe location. Excellent access to local beaches and country parks.”

And that really sums up what we want The Woodlands Cottages to be about — comfortable, dog-friendly stays surrounded by beautiful Lincolnshire countryside, with the coast just waiting to be explored. 🐾🌊🌾

A little trip to the vets for Amanda today 🐔❤️

We noticed that one of our girls, Amanda, had developed a large, hard swelling around her ear, so today it was time for a trip to the vets to get her properly checked over.

She was such a good girl throughout her examination — even posing for her weigh-in! 😂🐔

Our animals are a huge part of life here at The Woodlands, so when something doesn’t look right, we want to make sure they’re looked after.

Hopefully Amanda will soon be feeling much more comfortable and back outside with the rest of the girls. ❤️

🏡 A “HOLIDAY TAX” IN LINCOLNSHIRE?

Some of you may have seen this on the news last night…

The Government has announced plans to give mayors and local leaders powers to introduce an Overnight Visitor Levy — potentially adding an extra percentage to the cost of overnight accommodation.

For small independent businesses like The Woodlands Holiday Cottages, it’s something we’ve been watching closely.

But there is welcome news for us here in Lincolnshire. ❤️

Our Greater Lincolnshire Mayor, Dame Andrea Jenkyns, has said she will NOT introduce the levy under her leadership. 👏

We welcome that position.

Lincolnshire needs to encourage MORE visitors — not make it more expensive to come here.

When our guests stay with us, they don’t just support The Woodlands. They visit our pubs 🍻, restaurants 🍽️, cafés ☕, independent shops 🛍️, attractions and markets, explore the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds 🌳 and enjoy our fantastic coastline 🌊.

That visitor spending supports businesses and jobs right across our area.

We understand the argument that a visitor levy could raise money for tourism and local infrastructure — but at a time when the cost of a UK break is already increasing, is another charge really the answer?
