“The people we met at the lake were really down to earth and was really accommodating full of lots of advice and knowledge of the lake. Couldn’t really knock the place at all mate, amenities were great, toilets and shower was spot on. Shops within 10 mins of the venue. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Fishing was tough but a welcome challenge. Weather conditions were not ideal but thats fishing. Would definitely go back for sure!”

The tail end of May 2026 produced some fantastic catches from the famous “big fish” water, Leon Lake 🎣

Among the highlights were a stunning 18.3kg Grass Carp, a 19.2kg Mirror Carp, the lake’s well-known 22.8kg ‘Wonky Mirror’, a solid 22kg Common Carp, and another beautiful Mirror Carp. A great reward for anglers making the most of the late spring conditions!

As we move into the summer months, don’t forget the Leon Lake summer promotion is now available, with selected 2026 weeks offering a discounted rate for anglers.

The tail end of May 2026 produced some fantastic catches from the famous “big fish” water, Leon Lake 🎣

💚 REVIEWS OFF THE SCALE 💚

“Booking through Carp Social was easy. We went to Kingfisher Pools as a group of 4, two couples — my mate’s Mrs was pregnant so we were just after somewhere to chill out, and that’s exactly what we got.

Our hosts were spot on from the moment we arrived and gave us a lovely warm welcome. The anglers’ lodges were immaculate — genuinely top tier. Couldn’t fault the place.

Fishing-wise, it was mega. We caught 36 fish for the week, including 10 x 30lb carp — with a 37lb common, a 38lb 6oz mirror, and a grass carp just 1oz under the 50lb mark. Plenty of action throughout the trip and proper quality fish.

All in all, it turned into a proper family-style getaway for us and everyone loved it. Five stars from us!”

⚖️ OFF THE SCALE 💚

“It’s a solid 9/10 for Lac Alexander and Carp Social from me! Coops and I had a fantastic week, despite the weather being absolutely brutal. We definitely didn’t expect constant rain and temperatures dropping to 0 degrees, which made for some seriously tough fishing conditions. Even so, we managed to hook 16 fish, lost a few in the snags, and landed 10 including 6 x 30’s to 38lb 4oz and 4 x 40’s to 44lb 2oz. No suntan for us this trip, but we’re both leaving as very happy anglers. Highly recommended!”

“Just had a week at Leon Lake, lovely place and tranquil. Hubby had a reel go off at 1am and fought with it for 10 minutes or so and then got snapped. Gutted to say the least. Other people did catch though. New to this so still lots to learn. Had a good time just getting away from busy life. Had an issue with our 8m motorhome at first but the problem was soon resolved with a quick call to CarpSocial. Can’t recommend how helpful they were at arranging this trip for me. Thanks again.”
