Over the past few weeks, 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 2 – 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐢 has taken us beyond the wildlife and introduced us to some of the remarkable people who make an African safari possible.

The trackers who read stories written in the dust.

Some of the most important people on your safari may be people you never properly meet.

You wake up and there's hot water.

The lights work.

The safari vehicle starts.

Fresh linen appears.

The pathways are clean.

Your luggage somehow gets from the airstrip to your tent.

Everything simply...

But in the middle of the African wilderness, very little happens by accident.

Behind the scenes is an extraordinary team keeping the entire operation moving.

Maintenance teams checking generators, solar systems, pumps and plumbing.

Mechanics making sure safari vehicles are ready for another day in the bush.

Laundry teams ensuring fresh linen and clothing quietly reappear.

Gardeners and grounds teams caring for the surroundings.

Drivers transporting guests, staff and supplies.

Security teams helping keep everyone safe.

And many others whose names guests may never know.

They don't necessarily stand beside you when you photograph your first lion.

They may not pour your sundowner.

They may never sit with you around the campfire.

But their work touches almost every part of your safari.

And working behind the scenes at a remote safari camp brings challenges most guests never see.

Supplies may have travelled considerable distances.

A broken pump can't simply wait until tomorrow.

A vehicle problem needs solving.

Power, water and communications all need to keep functioning.

Often, problems are solved quietly...

Before you even know there was a problem.

That's the beauty of a great safari team.

When everything works perfectly, you hardly notice the work behind it.
