Our Buddleia is still putting on a beautiful display, and the butterflies are certainly making the most of it. There’s something lovely about watching them flutter from flower to flower, enjoying the last of the summer blooms.

It’s these simple moments with nature that make a countryside escape to Whitelee so special. 🌿💜

🌿 Happy Saturday from Whitelee Holiday Cottages! 🏡

It’s changeover day here at Whitelee, which means it’s time to say a big thank you to this week’s guests. 💚

We hope you’ve enjoyed your time with us, made some wonderful Northumberland memories and are heading home feeling relaxed and refreshed. Safe travels, and we’d love to welcome you back again in the future.

Meanwhile, we’ll be busy getting Rowan, Oak and Birch Cottages ready for our new guests arriving this afternoon. 🧹✨

There’s something lovely about knowing another week of adventures is about to begin – countryside walks, peaceful mornings, wildlife spotting, days exploring beautiful Northumberland and cosy evenings back at the cottage.

It’s Wednesday lunchtime and we’re halfway through another peaceful week here in beautiful Northumberland.

To our guests currently staying with us at Whitelee, we hope you’re having a wonderful time and making the most of your countryside escape. 😊

Housed inside the beautiful old Alnwick railway station, Barter Books is one of those places where you can happily lose track of time. Browse shelf after shelf of pre-loved books, discover something you didn’t know you were looking for and soak up the wonderful atmosphere of this much-loved Northumberland treasure. 📖

It also makes a lovely addition to a day exploring Alnwick – particularly as the days begin to feel a little more autumnal. 🍂

One of the joys of a stay at Whitelee is having so many wonderful places to discover across Northumberland, from spectacular countryside and historic castles to hidden gems like this.

Saturday means changeover day here at Whitelee, and we’re busy getting Rowan, Oak and Birch Cottages ready to welcome our new guests this afternoon. 💚

There’s something lovely about knowing that, in just a few hours, another group of guests will be arriving, unpacking their bags and settling in for a peaceful Northumberland escape.

Whether the week ahead involves pulling on the walking boots and exploring the countryside, discovering some of Northumberland’s wonderful places, spending quality time with family and friends, or simply slowing down and enjoying the peace and quiet, we hope you have a fantastic stay with us.
