👻🌙 Another evening wandering the winding streets and shadowy corners of Padstow, sharing tales that have echoed through the centuries...

A huge thank you to everyone who joined me tonight. From restless spirits and smugglers' secrets to local legends whispered through generations, you were a splendid audience and made the evening a real pleasure.

As the lantern light faded and the harbour fell quiet, I was reminded once again that Padstow's history is never far beneath the surface... if you know where to look. ⚓👣

If you haven't yet joined me on a ghostly journey through the town's hidden past, there are plenty more tales waiting to be told.

👻⚓ A Most Curious Evening in Padstow… ⚓👻

Your humble guide must offer a small confession…

I became so engrossed in the tales of ghosts, smugglers, and mysterious happenings this evening that I entirely forgot to gather everyone together for a proper photograph before people began vanishing into the night! 📸🌙

So this picture captures only a handful of the brave souls who accompanied me.

A heartfelt thank you to all 14 guests who joined me on tonight’s Ghost Walk. It was a pleasure sharing Padstow’s darker history and lingering legends with such a splendid group.

Until our paths cross again, keep a lantern lit, beware the shadows, and remember… not every resident of Padstow has departed this world. 👀👻

They say I’ve been dead for over 200 years…

My name is Thomas Rawlings.

And I know every myth, legend, and story Padstow tries to forget.

If you’ve never joined us before, this is a glimpse into the world of The Ghost Walk Padstow — where history and legend walk side by side.

A brilliant Sunday evening on the walk with Stephen, Kieran, and their partners — the harbour providing the perfect backdrop as Padstow eased into a fine summer dusk.

We wandered the streets of Padstow, sharing tales of smugglers, lost souls, and the strange echoes that seem to linger where history refuses to sit still. There’s something about the town as evening falls that makes even the most sceptical listener go a little quieter…

A huge thank you to you all for the company, the laughter, and for leaning into the stories with such good spirit. It was one of those walks where everything just clicks — place, people, and atmosphere.

If you’ve never joined us before, this is Padstow as you’ve never quite seen it before.

As the sun slipped behind the rooftops tonight, the shadows of old Padstow seemed to wake once more… 🌅👻

Another brilliant evening wandering the ancient lanes, hearing tales of smugglers, pirates, shipwrecks and restless spirits. From hidden alleyways to haunted doorways, history always feels a little closer after dark.

Thank you to everyone who joined tonight’s ghost walk — and remember… not every figure seen in the twilight belongs to the living. ⚓🏴‍☠️

This brave “crew” stepped ashore this evening to explore the winding lanes, hidden corners, and haunted spaces of old Padstow. ⚓👻🕯️ Thank you for joining me.

It was a warm and vibrant night upon the harbour — almost too warm to feel the chill lurking within the tales themselves… though a few uneasy glances suggested the spirits were still close at hand. 🌙

And with tomorrow evening’s tour already full, it would seem The Ghost Walk Padstow has become the town’s 'hottest' ticket! 🔥👻😂

If you dare walk beside the ghosts of smugglers, merchants, and restless souls, secure your place before the lantern fades into the darkness…

✨ Some say good things come in twos… and tonight’s second ghost walk at 8pm certainly proved it. 👻🌙

A lively and adventurous group of 12 joined me for another walk wandering Padstow’s hidden lanes, ancient harbour paths, and storied corners. ⚓🏰

Though darkness still lingers far beyond the horizon at this time of year, the soft golden evening light brought an atmosphere all of its own… long shadows upon the old streets, sea air drifting through the harbour, and tales of ghosts, smugglers, and mystery echoing through the town. 🌅👣

Alas… amidst the stories and adventure, your humble guide entirely forgot to capture the traditional group photograph this evening! 📸😂 Yet several brave souls were seen taking their own pictures along the route, so perhaps some excellent snapshots of the evening may still emerge from the shadows in days to come… 👀✨

Thank you all for your wonderful company, laughter, and enthusiasm throughout the walk. Padstow always has stories to tell… whether beneath moonlight or the last glow of a Cornish sunset. 🌊

☀️🌊 What a glorious evening in Padstow for tonight’s 6pmghost walk!

A huge thank you to the 22 wonderful guests who joined me this evening at Prideaux Place for an incredible adventure exploring Padstow’s hidden lanes, ancient harbour, secret corners, and centuries of history… all beneath beautiful golden evening sunshine rather than ghostly darkness. 🏰⚓

With the long days of May stretching ever onward toward midsummer, the lanterns were scarcely needed this night… yet the tales of smugglers, spirits, and strange happenings still lingered upon the warm sea air. 🌅👣👻

Thank you all for your laughter, enthusiasm, and bravery as we uncovered the legends and mysteries woven through the old streets of Padstow. A truly delightful evening in excellent company. ✨

👻 A 200-YEAR-OLD MYSTERY FROM THE SHADOWS... 📜✨

Have you ever held an object that seemed to possess a mind—and a timeline—of its own?

Listen closely as the spirit of Padstow’s great Regency merchant, Thomas Rawlings, steps out of the fog of history to claim what is his... 👇

"When I established the Padstow Bank in 1806, I ensured its foundation was unassailable. 🏛️

This very note, issued in the summer of 1817, bears my name—signed on my behalf by my trusted chief clerk. ✍️💼

While I personally kept my own fortune with Coutts & Co. in the London West End, the daily commercial funds of the bank were secured and cleared through my London agents, Messrs. Benjamin and John Newton of Birchin Lane..." 💰✉️

🕰️ The 200-Year Curse? 🏝️✈️
This banknote was the pride of Cornwall, until it was stolen from the Padstow Museum in 1984 and vanished off the face of the earth. For 33 years, it was completely gone.

Then came 2017.

Out of nowhere, a plain envelope arrived at the museum postmarked from the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. Inside was this exact note. No return address. No explanation.

It was returned exactly 200 years to the very year after it was first printed. 👥⏳

Coincidence? Or did the ghost of Thomas Rawlings finally track down his stolen property across the Atlantic and force its return to its rightful home?
