Opening in 2026, hidden away in peaceful woodland near Orton, Cumbria, our luxury glamping pods will sit beside a small private lake and the gentle flow of Tarn Sike. Nestled within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this secluded retreat will blend comfort with tranquillity, where nature and dark skies will take centre stage. Step straight from your pod into miles of stunning walking and cycling routes, with Great Asby Scar, Sunbiggin Tarn and the Howgills on the doorstep. Slow down, unwind and enjoy the nature in our little corner of Cumbria.

The path to Tarn S**e Woodland Retreat is taking shape… quite literally!

With much of the essential underground infrastructure now in place, our groundworkers have been busy creating the paths that will wind their way through our woodland retreat.

The lighting posts are now in place as well, ready for the electrics - soon to be lighting the way for our glampers. ✨

Every path laid and every little detail completed takes us another step closer to welcoming our first guests, hopefully later this year.

It’s incredibly exciting to see the vision coming together, and we couldn’t be happier with how it’s looking.

It’s hard to get any work done around here when the locals keep distracting you… ☺️🐿️🌲

We’ve been busy making lots of progress on our little woodland retreat, but there’s always time to stop and top up the feeders for our resident red squirrels.

We feel incredibly lucky to have these little characters living here at - and we have a feeling our future guests are going to love spotting them just as much as we do. 🐿️🍁

It’s all coming together at Tarn S**e 🌲 There’s been a lot happening behind the scenes lately... 👀

We just wanted to give a big shout-out to all the brilliant trades and businesses helping us turn Tarn S**e Woodland Retreat into the place we’ve been imagining.

From groundwork, drainage and landscaping to stonework, tree work and getting our pods into place, so much progress is being made across the site.

We've even reached the stage of shopping for pots, pans, crockery and cutlery 🍽️ We're starting to get excited now!

It's been fantastic to work with Glampitect on the design of our site and with their partner Pod Factory UK on the pods themselves.

Lots still to do before we can open but it's all taking shape.

More updates soon.

A major milestone reached last week at with the siting of our pods.

It was a busy week and has been equally busy this week, getting the mains electric cable installed, water sorted and trenches filled in.

Every day we get a step closer but still plenty to do.

On Wednesday last week we set off to Pod Factory to see our pods.

It didn't quite to to plan due to a 4 hour hold up on the M6, Pod Factory UK booked us one of their AvantGlamp pods so we could stay overnight and see our pods next day.

All very much worth the effort, we are so pleased with how our pods are looking and cannot wait for them to arrive at Tarn S**e Glamping soon.
