On the way home over the moors last night, we stopped to watch a Curlew on top of stones, probably keeping a parental eye out for the little ones. 🐣 πŸ₯° beautiful evening, warm and breezy 😊

πŸ‘ Smallest and without doubt, the best 😁😁😁

We love this place πŸ₯° we called in yesterday on the way home from the coast, didn’t see Glenys, nice to catch up with Neil 😊 it was busy with both locals and people on holiday. We had a Beckwater, just to check the standard of course and happy to report it was delicious! Pip had a chew and met several nice big dogs 🐢 what a great way to end the weekend!

We had a little day trip north to Northumberland National Park and Hadrian’s Wall, then called at the impressive Angel of the North in Gateshead on the way back for a close up view. It’s massive, as you can see, even with these not too great shots!

Here are some interesting facts from Gateshead Council.

Antony Gormley's winning design is now one of the most viewed pieces of art in the world. It is seen by more than one person every second. That's 90,000 every day or 33 million every year.

With its prime location, on a panoramic hilltop by the A1, the Angel of the North has become one of the most famous artworks in the region.
The sculpture was installed in February 1998 and over the last twenty years has become one of the most recognisable pieces of public art ever produced, winning many accolades and awards.

Worth stopping off to take a closer look! 😁
