If you're looking for a destination that truly has it all, Sri Lanka should be at the top of your list. I was lucky enough to experience this incredible itinerary myself last year, and it's easy to see why so many people fall in love with this beautiful, welcoming country.

From climbing the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress and spotting elephants on safari in Gal Oya, to scenic train journeys through tea plantations, relaxing on the beaches of Bentota, and exploring the bustling streets of Colombo by tuk tuk... every day brings something completely different.

This 11-night journey showcases the very best of Sri Lanka, combining wildlife, culture, history, and spectacular landscapes into one incredible adventure.

Best time to visit: This itinerary is perfect for a visit December to April, when the south and west coasts enjoy sunshine, calm seas and perfect conditions for sightseeing, safaris and beach time, even some surf. Whereas the east coast is great for exploring in the UK summer holidays 🏄

🇬🇷 As I'm off to Greece for a week, I thought I'd share the Greek destinations you can fly to direct from our local airport

One of the reasons I keep going back to Greece is that every island feels completely different.

Rather than telling you they're all beautiful (because they are!), I thought I'd share one experience I'd put on every itinerary...

💙 Corfu – Grab a coffee at Kanoni and watch the planes come into land over Mouse Island.

💙 Rhodes – Save Rhodes Old Town for the evening. Once the day-trippers have gone, it has a completely different atmosphere. Perfect for October half term.

💙 Crete – Don't just visit Balos Lagoon... stop at the viewpoint first before walking down. The view is incredible.

💙 Kefalonia – Start with the Myrtos Beach viewpoint, then enjoy a long lunch by the harbour in Fiskardo. (this is where I got married 🇬🇷)

💙 Kos – Head up to the mountain village of Zia for sunset. It's one of the island's best views.

💙 Zakynthos – Book an early morning boat trip to the Blue Caves before the crowds arrive.

Whether you're looking for family-friendly beaches, incredible food, quiet villages or somewhere to explore, there's a Greek island for everyone. They're all different.

And the best bit? They're all just a direct flight from Bournemouth Airport. ✈️

I'm off to discover another favourite Greek island this week, so I'll be sharing plenty while I'm away. 🇬🇷☀️

Discover Vancouver, turquoise lakes in Lake Louise, towering peaks around Jasper and Banff, wildlife around every corner, and some of the most scenic drives on the planet. 🚗🏔️🐻

From the Icefields Parkway to glacier-fed lakes and endless mountain adventures, it's easy to see why this is Canada's most iconic fly-drive itinerary.

Out of office... incoming 🇬🇷☀️

This Sunday I'm heading back to one of my favourite Greek islands, Lefkada, for a week staying at Nikiana Beach Club with Seafarer Holidays | Sailing Holidays in Greece & beyond. Very excited for the Greek food, crystal-clear Ionian waters, plenty of watersports & a quiz night!

I first visited the island over 25 years ago when I worked for Sunsail Holidays, and I've been lucky enough to return many times since, we've even camped on the beach in our campervan!

What I love most is that Lefkada has still yet to attract the crowds & mass tourism - it's traditional waterfront tavernas, friendly locals, crystal-clear waters and predictable winds, this is real Greece to me.

Just a note if you've been thinking about getting in touch, if you've a quote you need to tweak, or would like to book before I head off, you've got this week to catch me. I'll then be back in the office Monday 2nd August, refreshed and ready to help plan your next adventure.

One of the highlights of my Mykonos trip last year was discovering this beautiful hotel. 🤍

Set just above Mykonos Town, Deos feels like a peaceful retreat while still being only a short walk from the cobbled streets, boutique shops and waterfront restaurants below.

What I loved most:
✨ Contemporary Cycladic design, very calm, minimalist feel
✨ Incredible views from the rooms and suites, many with their own private hot tub or pool
✨ A beautiful infinity pool and spa, perfect for switching off
✨ Dining that was on another level
✨ That feeling of complete relaxation from the moment you arrive

Perfect for couples, or families with older children (12+), it’s a hotel that offers the best of both worlds, tranquillity when you want it and Mykonos Town on your doorstep when you’re ready to explore. The ferry port is also a small walk or ask for a ride on the hotel’s golf buggy.
