Torabhaig Distillery

The Glamaig Hill Race was run today, an event I often tell my guests about. In 1889, a Gurkha soldier named Harkabir Tharpa scaled Glamaig (height approx 2500 feet/770 meters) and returned to Sligachan hotel in little less than an hour. To honour him, the race has been taking place since the mid 1980s. The record time is 45 mins!!

Well done to all the runners today.

My favourite stop. The Skye Museum of Island Life with stunning views of the Hebrides and the best beef bridie you’ll ever taste. No wonder my kilt doesn’t fit!!

Who’s idea was it to wear the kilt while climbing the Old Man??!!
It was pretty gusty at times…poor people coming up the hill behind me 🤣🤣🤣

(I am only kidding by the way before someone reports me…my kilt was tied down like on old black house roof!)
