Well you never know what you might see whilst sitting in the beach outside the Ty Coch. This is just incredible, the dolphins have been seen close in all summer, but sadly I’ve missed them. They sure aren’t afraid of people or boats!! 🐬

Tuesday 27th September. Swell from Hurricane Fiona arrived today but, as with all well travelled swells, there were 20 minute to half hour flat spells between sets. The better waves were shoulder high. Here Eilir pulled in from take off - a rare better wave.

Interesting images, what’s not to love about the Llyn peninsula. The first image caption is incorrect though- it’s not Hells mouth, it’s morfa Nefyn! I don’t recall ever seeing that building, I’m obviously not that old! 😂. Sadly, the article leads to the controversial debate about 2nd homes, which Llechwedd is, but also a thriving holiday let bringing in much needed income to the area.

It has been called the Welsh Riviera, but photos from 1985 show another side of the Llyn Peninsula.

Gwynedd has some of the most beautiful beaches you will see anywhere. The 2nd best beach in Wales- Penllech is within 5 minutes drive of Morfa Nefyn and is a belter. No 3 on the list is always a favorite of mine, the stunning beach at Llanbedrogg famous for its multi colored beach huts. The cafe at the bottom of the beach road is exceptional too- perfect for a lunch out.

I had no intention of including Three Cliffs Bay in this guide, much less making it the regional winner. It’s on every desk-based, clickbait list of the best British beaches. Well the fisrt week of May was certainly a busy one for me freshening up LLechwedd with a new lick of masonry paint. Painting a house in 3 days, morning until night- my shoulder still aches! There have been delays putting in a smart new patio replacing the decking and grotty old patio area, but finally its taking shape. Completion photos to follow soon!😊
