It is that time if year again. Pack a picnic, buy some burgers, call some friends stroll the 2 minutes down the road and choose a good spot.

Enjoy an evening chatting, playing, swimming, eating…. maybe sipping something long and cool. Feeling the evening sun on your skin, the sand under your toes (and maybe a little in your sandwich!)

Signs that our guests have enjoyed their stay!

When we head to the house to do the change over clean we never know quite what to expect! Most of out guests are beautifully clean and tidy.. but there are are often signs of a good stay! These are all certainly ones we are happy to find!

The Devil is in the detail… and we hope we have thought of all the important ones in the kitchen here at The House on the Corner :

A guest once compliments the well equipped kitchen at The House on the Corner , saying she loved the sunrise cupboard ( where you find everything for your morning cuppa) and the sunset cupboard ( where there is a glass for every sundowner drink of choice). We rather like this!!!
A kitchen to cook in. Built by my granny in 1960 most of the kitchen is original, I couldn’t bear to rip it out and start again when the house became mine so we slotted some mod cons into the existing design. The 1960s design has some fabulous features such as the pantry which stores all your supplies, and the hatch which creates an open plan feel and a connection to the living spaces , but can be closed off if required! The little kitchen sink looks out over the garden and is perfect for watching the world go by!
