We have some amazing caves around Ramsey Island. This is the aptly named Ogof Piws, or pink cave. We can only get into this cave at low water and the pink colouration is an encrusting algae called Lithophyllum incrustans which usually grows under the water but grows in the intertidal zone in caves.

We know we keep banging on about it BUT our Grassholm and Celtic Deep trips have been super popular at the moment and for good reason...

Not only do you get to see these incredible birds on one of the world largest colonies but we've also had an incredible amount of Dolphin and Minke Whale spottings in the last week - today was the most recent, both boats headed out to Grassholm and caught a mother and calf just off the island!

The weather this bank holiday is looking great so far and we think these trips will fill up quickly, call the office or book online 🤩

Did you know that the RSPB bought Ramsey Island as it's an important breeding site for our resident Chough? They feed on insect larvae in very short grass, and the land on Ramsey has managed to provide an ideal habitat for the insects the Chough feeds on, using a mixed grazing regime involving sheep, cattle, and ponies.

If you'd be charmed by a Chough, now is your chance to book a trip with us! We have availability throughout the week.

Outstanding Wildlife Boat trips

We specialise in bespoke trips and can create a trip to suit your interests, be it wildlife photography, art, story telling or just sitting out there soaking up the tranquility. We can organise a “supper at sea” or a story telling trip with renowned local author and illustrator Jackie Morris. We are also teamed up with Sea Watch Foundation helping them with their cetacean research and are able to offer specialist cetacean photo ID trips with one of their researchers on board.
