I’m a Travel Counsellor based in Coulsdon, Surrey and you'll see lots of posts of my daughter Esme out and about exploring, I'm raising a little traveller! I have much personal travel experience to draw on when helping you plan your own adventures. My time spent travelling around South East Asia, Australia and South America after finishing university is the root of my passion for travel. This led me to start working in the travel industry in 2004. Before becoming a Travel Counsellor early in 2019, I gained 13 years experience as a travel consultant with a large independent travel agency. During that time I continued exploring the world, both independently and with organised group tours. I have visited diverse regions in the Americas, Asia, Africa, Europe and Oceania, enjoying spectacular scenery, culture and wildlife in over 60 countries. I pride myself in offering fantastic customer service and will always do everything I can to personalise your perfect holiday or business trip, based on your requirements and making use of my personal travel experiences and the extensive knowledge gained whilst working in the travel industry. What a crazy week it has been trying to get everything done before setting my out of office for a couple of weeks!

Well I managed to get everything done and finished up by booking an amazing self drive to Nambia.

Such a wonderful destination and so different to any where else I have been lucky enough to explore.

My clients have a great journey planned all about immersive desert, coast and safari experiences. After a night in Namibia’s capital, head into the Namib’s towering red dunes for a guided Sossusvlei adventure, including sunrise over the sand sea and the chance to climb Big Daddy. Then moving to the wild Atlantic coast, kayaking alongside thousands of seals at Pelican Point and enjoying a free day in Swakopmund to choose from skydiving, quad biking, dolphin and seal cruises or desert tours.

From there, the trip turns north into dramatic Damaraland, where a guided nature drive takes them through dry riverbeds in search of desert‑adapted elephants and unique desert flora and geology. The safari continues in and around Etosha National Park with expertly guided game drives, giving the chance to encounter elephants, rhinos, lions, giraffes, antelope and an incredible variety of birdlife across shimmering salt pans and savannah.

Towards the end of the trip, a truly memorable rhino‑tracking experience on foot with an experienced guide, followed by a gentle horseback ride through the Namibian bush.

I have finally been through the many photos from Svalbard and pulled together some favourites to share with you. It was an incredible long weekend that felt so much longer.

I already knew a bit about expedition cruising, but I came away feeling so much more knowledgeable after a full day of conference sessions looking at destinations and the different styles of expedition on offer 🌍 We visited five very different ships, in a range of sizes and standards, from what felt like a “true” expedition vessel right through to exploring in the lap of luxury 🛳️

We also had the chance to experience this wonderful destination itself: a tour around town, a hike, beer tasting at the northernmost brewery in the world 🍻, a sauna and dip in the fjord, and an unforgettable boat trip where we watched a glacier calving 🧊 No polar bear sightings this time, which just means I clearly need to get back on an expedition cruise for longer than an hour… although we did spot a whale from one of the ships while we were docked! 🐋

Had a good explore of Silverseas Silver Spirit today. Getting to see the different suites, dining options, the spa and other public areas.

Plus a quick paddle in the lovely warm pool, as instructed by the rep showing us around (as I had flip flops on - of course!)....I wasn't going to say no to a quick test!

Summer might be winding down, but my desk has never been busier with travel dreams and holiday memories ✈️🌍

Over the last 6 weeks I’ve had families heading off on their school summer adventures, couples about to jet away on adventurous escapes (I’m busy doing those final checks and answering last questions), and lots of brand new trips now in the planning stages too!

My desk has been all over the world recently: India, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Peru, Thailand, Costa Rica, Texas, Florida, Australia, Sabah, Fiji, Morocco, Canada, Portugal and Turkiye. My lovely clients have been relaxing on beaches all over Greece 🏖 and are off cruising the Norwegian Fjords, the Med, the Douro, the Caribbean and around the British Isles 🚢. And I’ll admit I was very jealous of my clients at the F1 in Amsterdam yesterday 🏎

I can definitely say that no two days are ever the same here!

After years of designing incredible India adventures for my clients, it is my turn to experience this magical country first-hand… and I could not be more excited to be heading off in September 🛫

I will be following a 9-night Golden Triangle journey with a twist: combining iconic cities with soulful wildlife and river landscapes:

▪️ Delhi: Time to settle in, adjust and soak up the first sights, sounds and flavours of India’s capital before the adventure unfolds 🌆
▪️ Ranthambhore: Immersive days in one of India’s most storied national parks, with morning and afternoon safaris in search of deer, birdlife and, with luck, the elusive Bengal tiger 🐅🌿
▪️ Jaipur: Exploring the Pink City’s royal heritage, from grand palaces and astronomical wonders to colourful bazaars bursting with textiles, jewellery and street snacks 🕌🎨
▪️ Agra: A day devoted to Mughal grandeur, taking in the Taj Mahal at its most atmospheric and contrasting it with the mighty Agra Fort 🕍❤️
