Do you know the difference between a Bakewell Pudding and a Bakewell Tart? 🤔✨
Our iconic Bakewell Pudding is the original recipe dating back to the 1860s 🇬🇧💫 It was actually meant to be a strawberry jam tart, but a happy accident changed everything! Instead of mixing the egg and almond mixture into the jam, it was layered over the top! Creating a puff pastry base, a rich layer of jam, and a beautifully soft almond topping 💛
The Bakewell Tart came a little later and is just as delicious 😍 It features a shortcrust pastry base, a layer of jam, and a firm almond frangipane topping! Either finished with icing and a cherry 🍒 or a flaky almond topping for that perfect cake-like bite 🎂✨
