Community History Month Spotlight: Thurso Bridge

Did you know the current Thurso Bridge was officially opened on 3rd May 1887 after the original 1800s bridge collapsed during a widening attempt?

Today, it carries the A9 over the Thurso River with its striking four-arch design and classic lamp posts. A vital link to the east of the town centre – and a piece of Thurso's fascinating past!

The Orca Watch 2025 starts tomorrow! 🐋👀

From 24th May–2nd June, join scientists and the community for a week of whale and dolphin spotting along the stunning Caithness coastline based at John O’Groats.

Organised by the Sea Watch Foundation, this event brings together the community to help monitor and celebrate these incredible creatures. Whether you're a seasoned spotter or a curious first-timer, it's a brilliant way to experience our local marine life!
