It is with great sadness that we announce that Peter Woodiwiss passed away at The Grange Hospital on January 16, 2025, at the age of 96.

Beloved husband of the late Betty, much loved father of Helen and Charles, cherished father-in-law to Marianna, proud grandfather of Sian, Schon, Mia and Samuel.

He will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives and many friends.

A celebration of Peter's life will take place on Monday 17th February at 11:00am at Usk Baptist Church, 7 Old Market Street, NP15 1AL.

No flowers please.

Donations can be made to the Usk Rural Life Museum, where Peter spent many decades volunteering.

Thank you to Russell & Anna from The Willows Garden Centre for our spectacular tree at Usk Rural Life Museum & to Lee from Wendy's at Usk Museum Cafe for helping get it in!!

We may be closed but We are still festive. No comments about the lights though please as the 2nd picture is the gap I had to crawl through to decorate it! (Anyone who knows me knows this was a challenge!🤣🤣) I promise this looks more festival from the street!!

Slight technical hitch at the moment - cafe doors are broken but dont panic, they are still open - you just need to come in through the door on the footpath Wendy's at Usk Museum Cafe

The museum remains closed though & will re-open in March

We are now collecting stamps for the RNIB Stamp appeal in Usk Rural Life Museum. Just tear/cut them off your post when it arrives, save them all & pop them in the box on the welcome desk at the museum next time you are popping in for a coffee at Wendy's at Usk Museum Cafe!

Our fabulous little museum is run ENTIRELY by volunteers! From manning the welcome desk, to cleaning and maintenance, book keeping and secretarial roles even watering our plants, everything is done by volunteers!

In National Volunteer Week - here is a big thank you, pay on the back, hug to each & every one of them! There would be no museum without you - THANK YOU!🙌🙌🙌🙌
