๐Ž๐ง๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐‹๐ž๐š๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐‡๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐จ, this fairly intimate tropical resort stands out for so many reasons โ€“ including its truly fabulous location on the edge of Krabi's National Marine Park, amidst lush foliage, limestone cliffs, white-sand beaches and the Andaman Sea. Its award-winning architecture is also something very special indeed, evoking as it does the atmosphere of a southern Thai village.

Accommodation is in unique two-storey circular pavilions and villas scattered throughout the coconut groves, some with private pools. The biggest have three bedrooms, making Rayavadee a great choice for multigenerational holidays or other gatherings with family or friends. Villas come with personal butler service; some are right on the beach.

Thereโ€™s plenty to explore nearby: reefs rich in colourful marine life, Poda, Chicken, Tub and Hong islands with their lovely beaches and strange rock formations, and iconic Phi Phi Island just a 35-minute speedboat ride away. Krabi Town's morning market is well worth a stroll, and there are brilliant activities including kayaking along the green waterways of Ta Laneโ€™s mangrove forests.

After 5 wonderful nights on board Cunardโ€™s Queen Mary 2 and I am heading home with a notebook full of ideas for my cruise clients.

Highlights for me have been the Iconic Afternoon Tea, the atmosphere in G32 (the ships nightclub), the food, in particular The steakhouse at Veranda and the overall warm and welcome feel of the ship.

Fam trips like this are all about experiencing the ship as you would: checking the cabins, trying the dining, feeling the atmosphere and asking a lot of questions.

Yesterdayโ€™s shore experience was a real treat: visiting the Benedictine distillery in Normandy while sailing on Queen Mary 2 with Cunard.

From the beautiful architecture to learning how this liqueur is crafted, it was a lovely mix of history, culture and tasting. It is the sort of excursion that feels relaxed but still really special, perfect if you enjoy food and drink experiences without anything too strenuous.

Trips like this help me understand which excursions are best suited to my clients, whether you are into gentle culture and tastings, or something more active.
