☕ WHAT DOES A TRAVEL COUNSELLOR ACTUALLY DO ALL DAY?

Well, contrary to popular belief, I don't spend all day sipping cocktails and looking at beaches! 😂🍹

Although the beach pictures are definitely a perk!

Behind the scenes, there's hotel research, destination training, checking travel arrangements, comparing options and finding those little details that can make a holiday special.

And occasionally attending hotel webinars that turn out to be rather more educational than expected! 👀🤣

I love that no two days are quite the same.

And the best bit? When all that research comes together into a holiday someone is genuinely excited about.

That's the part that makes it worthwhile. ❤️✈️

🌿🦧 OMG… BORNEO!! ❤️

Did anyone else tune in to Race Across the World last night?! 📺🌏

Oh my goodness, seeing Borneo on my TV brought back SO many incredible memories! ❤️

Borneo will always hold a very special place in my heart. I was lucky enough to spend six amazing weeks exploring this extraordinary part of the world a few years ago, including doing some volunteer work with orangutans. 🦧🌿

And anyone who knows me knows that orangutans are my absolute favourite wild animals! ❤️

Having the privilege of working so closely with these beautiful, intelligent, gentle creatures was an experience I will treasure forever.

They are known as the "Wild Men of Borneo", and when you've spent time observing their expressions, personalities and behaviour up close, you really do understand why. The similarities to us humans are just incredible!

Borneo isn't just another destination to me. It's somewhere that truly captured my heart. The rainforests, the wildlife, the people and the unforgettable experiences… there's nowhere quite like it. 🌴

Watching it on TV last night made me want to pack my bags and go straight back! ✈️😂

So, who else was watching? And has anyone been lucky enough to visit Borneo?

❤️ A LITTLE HONESTY FROM ME TODAY…

If you'd told me a year ago that I'd be running my own travel business, spending my days researching beautiful destinations, putting together holidays and helping people create amazing memories, I'd have been absolutely thrilled.

And I am! ❤️✈️

But here's something I hadn't quite appreciated…

Starting a business isn't just about being good at what you do. It's also about getting people to know you, trust you and give you that first opportunity.

And that part takes time.

Behind all the holiday photos, destination inspiration and the occasional cheeky post, there's just me — Denise — working hard to build something I'm genuinely passionate about.

I've been lucky enough to arrange some lovely holidays already, and there's nothing quite like knowing you've helped someone plan a trip they're really excited about. 🥰

But I'm still growing my little business, and I'd love the opportunity to help more people.

I'm not asking anyone to book a holiday they don't need (although I wouldn't say no to a spontaneous trip to the Maldives! 😂🍹).

🤣 So, there I was, logging into what I thought would be a perfectly normal hotel training webinar…

You know the usual… rooms, restaurants, swimming pools, fabulous facilities. 🌴🍹

Well, this particular couples-only resort in Mexico had a few EXTRA facilities I wasn't quite expecting! 👀🙈

Clothing optional? Oh, OK then…

Playrooms? Sorry, did I hear that correctly?! 😂😂

Let's just say this wasn't your average hotel presentation, and I came away with a whole new appreciation of the phrase adults-only resort! 🤣

But that's what I love about being a Travel Counsellor — there's a holiday out there for absolutely everyone, and my job is to find the right one for YOU!

No judgement here… although I may need another coffee before my next webinar! ☕😂

Currently swapping my usual routine for a little Greek sunshine, beautiful blue seas and a good dose of island life! 💙

There’s something about Greece that just gets me… the relaxed pace, gorgeous little streets, traditional tavernas, amazing food and those stunning views! 😍

✈️ And whilst I’m here, I thought I’d do a little homework! 😉
