An early start for us this morning with a last-minute pick-up from Blossom Street, York, to Leeds Train Station!

Our passengers had the option of taking the rail replacement bus, but instead chose to give us a call!

Within just 20 minutes, we are here to collect them and get them on their way to Leeds to catch their connecting train!

Did you know that York Mansion House has been the official home of the Lord Mayor of York since 1732? It is one of the earliest purpose-built residences for a Lord Mayor in England, and has welcomed many distinguished visitors over the centuries.

⚠️ SEVERE DELAYS IN EXCESS OF FOUR HOURS EXPECTED: M60 Simister Island weekend closure - 10 to 12 October

Please be prepared for our second full weekend closure on the M60 between junctions 17 and 18.
This closure will take place from Saturday 10 October to Monday 12 October:

🔴 M60 anticlockwise (westbound)
Closed from 10pm Saturday until 6am Monday
🔴 M60 clockwise (eastbound)
Closed from 11.59pm Saturday until 6am Monday

‼️Based on evidence from our first closure, severe delays of three to four hours or more are expected. Do not underestimate how busy it will be in this area during the weekend.

We will do our best to complete the work as quickly as possible. We appreciate this work is very disruptive and we sincerely apologise in advance for any disturbance to residents close to the M60, and to those travelling in the area this weekend.

✅ Avoid the area if possible
✅Never misuse the hard shoulder - unless you see signs telling you otherwise, it's illegal to drive on the hard shoulder, or to stop on it except in an emergency.

After spending the last few months dropping everyone else off at the airport for their holidays… it’s finally our turn to get on the plane instead of just waving everyone off! 😂✈️🏖️

🚒✈️ ANOTHER BIG STEP FOR DONCASTER SHEFFIELD AIRPORT

More good progress from DSA today.

The airport has now placed an order for THREE brand-new state-of-the-art aviation fire appliances, which will be built right here in Yorkshire by Angloco in Batley.

The new specialist vehicles are due to arrive in spring 2027 and will form an essential part of getting DSA operational again.

And when you put this alongside everything else that's happening, you can see the operation steadily being rebuilt.

🔥 Fire station refurbishment complete

👨‍🚒 First 14 Fire & Rescue staff starting this month

👨‍🚒 More than 50 fire service staff expected on site next year

🚒 Three new aviation fire appliances ordered

✈️ Recruitment, equipment and infrastructure continuing to move forward

I think this is the important bit for people to understand.

You don't order specialist airport fire engines and recruit more than 50 fire service staff for an airport that's going nowhere.

For four years we've heard the same question:

“Is DSA really going to reopen?”

Well, increasingly the answer is in what is actually happening on the ground.

Staff are being recruited.

Buildings are being refurbished.

Equipment is being ordered.

Operational capability is being rebuilt.

And another nice part of today's announcement is that these appliances are being built here in Yorkshire, supporting another Yorkshire business and Yorkshire jobs.

There is still plenty of work to do, and we'll keep following that progress as we always have.

But this is another important piece of the DSA jigsaw being put firmly into place. 💪✈️

The lighting on one of the runways is playing up.
30% of arriving flights so far today on time, just over 50% departing flights have left on time.
This will mean delays later in the day and tonight for departures and arrivals.
