A few days in Porto… and I completely fell in love 🇵🇹💙

From the colourful buildings to the riverside views and of course the wine 🍷… it’s such a beautiful relaxed city to explore

It pairs perfectly with a river cruise, starting or ending your trip somewhere like this just makes it even more special ✨

Definitely one I’d recommend adding to your list!

So what is river cruising really like? 🚢✨

I’ve just had a taster experience on the Douro River with Riviera Travel - 2 days to learn, explore and see what it’s all about… and it definitely opened my eyes 👀

We spent a few hours sailing, passed through a lock (which was amazing to experience!), enjoyed some fantastic food and even had a couple of themed evenings onboard - including a formal night and a glitz and glam night 💃✨

And yes there are still flights involved at the start and end. But once you’re onboard, everything feels so easy, relaxed and taken care of 💙

It’s such a lovely way to travel at a slower pace and really enjoy the journey, not just the destination ✨

Home after the most amazing few days away… and what a trip it’s been ✨

I started with a beautiful river cruise onboard the Riviera Rose, then spent a few days exploring the stunning city of Porto 🇵🇹🍷

Thank you so much Voco Southampton for a wonderful stay.

We were treated to a room with a view (I was very happy when I woke up to see our cruise ship in dock) chocolate fudge and we had a wonderful meal and cocktail in the Atlantic Gate on site restaurant. Breakfast is also served in this restaurant and is a buffet with a huge choice. I even had edamame and beetroot as part of my breakfast.

I have just done an onsite visit and this hotel is very accommodating especially to cruise customers. They have an on-site fitness suite, meeting rooms and lots of different types of rooms to suit couples, individuals, families or groups of friends.

All this and we also have a late checkout 🥰
