How to become an instant bird expert! I don’t know why I haven’t thought of this before but I now have an app for identifying birds and birdsongs. I found that we have two more birds in our garden that we didn’t realise - a Sedge Warbler and a Spotted Flycatcher.

About once or twice a year if we’re lucky we spot a beautiful Bullfinch but this morning I heard something different so I used the app and then spotted it right outside the kitchen window! I might have missed it if I wasn’t already tuned in and listening out for the different sounds.

The last photo shows some of the birds up the lane at Bullscove/Keameen Point. I think I have a few more stones to paint!

- Sat/Sun 2-night weekend from Saturday 19th July.

For August, we just have The Barn House available for 4 nights from the 5th. We are otherwise fully booked.

We're spoiled for really good pizza in these parts.

The can be found at neighbouring Fisher's Cross at weekends throughout the summer. We also recommend Hotel's Boatshed Pizza and Oak Fire Pizza in Clonakilty town.
