2️⃣ Cherry aromas in Sangiovese do not come from cherry juice.
3️⃣ And picking grapes later does not automatically make a wine better.

Some days in Tuscany make you very curious.

1️⃣ You learn that 𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸.
2️⃣ That grapes are already getting dangerously photogenic.
3️⃣ That 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 than anyone wearing linen should reasonably move.

👉🏻 And, most importantly, you learn that 𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗿𝘆.

This was one of those days: vineyards, cellars, proper questions, proper laughter, glasses raised at the right moment, and a lunch view that clearly understood its assignment.

At 𝗧𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱, we like wine tours with a little substance and a lot of soul. The kind where you meet the people, touch the place, understand the wine, and somehow end the day 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝘂𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 “𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀” 𝘁𝗼 “𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀”.

Tuscany, 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆.

Some of our guests come back more than once... and when they do, they don’t always want the same postcard twice.

🚐 So this time, we took a 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗼.

No scandal. Just excellent judgment.

👉🏻 Because Montefalco has the good stuff: ancient botti still in use, grapes drying for 𝗦𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼, beautiful cellar stories, and producers who make wine feel less like a product and more like a family saga.

Which, frankly, is 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲.

👉🏻 That’s the fun of traveling with 𝗧𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱: sometimes the best wine day is the one you didn’t originally expect. A little off the beaten path, full of character, and impossible to reduce to “𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨”.

People say they want a Tuscan wine tour for the wine.
Which is true, in the same way people go to Italy “𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘩”.

𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲.
𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀.

🍷 A real wine day in Tuscany is never just one thing.

👉🏻 It starts with a view that makes everyone suddenly very quiet.
👉🏻 Then someone opens a cellar door, and the day becomes more interesting.
👉🏻 Then a winemaker starts talking about grapes, soil, barrels, mistakes, weather, family, and that one vintage everyone still has opinions about.

And somewhere between the first sip and the second plate of food, you realize: 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴.

This is Tuscany doing what Tuscany does best: turning wine, food, landscape, and people into one very good reason to stay a little longer.

At this point, Stephen and Lori are either wonderfully loyal guests or quietly 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀.

🤩 This was their third tour with us (and their second this year), so naturally we thought: 𝗹𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶.

Because 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶 has a particular talent for making wine collectors slightly spoiled. The vineyards roll toward the sea, the cellars look like film sets, and somewhere between the first view and the first sip, you remember that wine is not just a drink here. It is landscape, people, craft, and yes… 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗶𝗮.

👉🏻 But the real beauty of a day like this is that even the iconic labels never travel alone. They arrive with stories, with places, with voices, with the people who pour them, explain them, and bring them to life.

That is the difference between tasting wine and actually experiencing a wine region.

👉🏻 That’s the magic of a day like this.

You start with vines and views, then meet the people behind the bottles, then taste wines that each tell the story a little differently. One cellar feels historic, another feels intimate, another opens the landscape in a completely new way. And somewhere in the middle, lunch arrives and suddenly nobody is in a hurry anymore... which, in Tuscany, is usually a sign that you’re doing things right.

Some people book a wine tour in Tuscany because… "𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹, 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗲".

😁 Fair enough, but then the day starts.

The road leaves Florence behind, the hills begin to roll, the cypress trees start behaving dramatically, and suddenly wine is not just “something to try on vacation”.

👉🏻 It becomes a way to 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲.

🚐 On this tour, we moved through the countryside between Chianti and Chianti Classico, which sounds like a small detail until you are standing there, looking at the hills, realizing that every village, every slope, every patch of soil has its own personality.

Then came the 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿, because of course he did.

In Chianti Classico, the 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼 𝗡𝗲𝗿𝗼 is not just a cute logo for people who enjoy taking photos with giant chickens. It is a symbol of history, territory, and one of Tuscany’s most famous wine regions.

🐔 And yes, he is very photogenic. Slightly intimidating, but photogenic.

Then the day kept doing what Tuscany does best: pretending to be effortless while quietly giving you 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

👉🏻 A walk into the cellar, where barrels sit in silence like they know family secrets.
👉🏻 A tasting where nobody needs to use fancy words, but somehow everyone starts noticing more.
👉🏻 A table with local food, because in Tuscany wine without food is basically a conversation missing its best friend.
👉🏻 A few views that make everyone suddenly very quiet.
👉🏻 And, naturally, a winery dog making sure the hospitality standards were properly maintained.

That is the part we love most.
You do not need to arrive as a wine expert.
You do not need to know every grape variety, every appellation, every vintage.

Who said a 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘆 is only for grown-ups?

On this one, the adults got the wine.
The kids got a mission.

🍇 First: learn where grapes grow.

Meanwhile, the parents were doing the very difficult job of tasting local wines with a vineyard view, enjoying lunch in the countryside, and pretending not to be extremely happy with how the day was going.
