pov: my happy place 🌊

If you really want to understand me, just look for the water.

I was born and raised in Newport Beach, riding my bike to the sand before I could do much of anything else.

I was a competitive swimmer until back surgery at 16 ended that chapter, but the water never left me.

In college I spent my summers in study abroad programs, and my junior year I did Semester at Sea, three months on a boat that circled the entire globe.

I spent my early twenties in San Francisco, then moved back to Orange County when my husband and I were ready to start our family.

Here’s what you’d notice scrolling my camera roll: even somewhere landlocked like Montana, I always find my way to the water. On it, in it, near it. It’s where I feel the most like me.

Maybe that’s exactly why I do what I do. I help people find the places that make them feel that way too.

Where’s your happy place? 🌊👇

Morocco 🇲🇦

Four things I tell every client before they go:

Timing is everything. Spring and fall (roughly March to May and September to November) are the sweet spots. Summer is brutally hot, especially in the desert and Marrakech.

Don’t build your trip around Casablanca. It’s the big airport, but it’s a large modern city. The magic is in Fes, Marrakech, and the Sahara. That’s where your time should go.

Skip the Uber roulette. They have it in the cities, but I send my clients with a private driver. Safer, easier, and someone who actually knows where to take you.

Know the desert’s seasons. The luxury Sahara camps close around June 1st because it’s simply too hot. And a tip most people miss: you don’t have to drive back, you can fly straight from the desert to Marrakech.

Here’s the honest truth: Morocco can be magic or it can be overwhelming, and the difference is entirely in the planning. The right riads, the right guides, the right driver. That’s the part I design so you just get to feel it.

If Morocco’s on your list, my link is in my bio. 👇

Some of these are chic. Some of these are chaos. I’ll let you decide which is which. 🧡

Here’s the truth: planning trips so other people can see the world is my actual dream job.

Winging your own trip with no real plan? Debatable.

Seeing a new place with the people you love for the very first time? Unmatched.

Losing three weekends of your life to a planning spreadsheet? Optionable.

That last one is where I come in.

If your family trip is coming and the spreadsheet is already stressing you out, that’s your sign.

Save this, then come find me.

Follow along for the kind of travel your family will still be talking about in twenty years.

Been There 🌍 my honest take on the places I’ve actually been.

Today: my favorite domestic destination, dude ranches. 🤠

Yes, this born-and-raised California girl is, in fact, a ranch girl.

Here’s who each one is really for:
🐴 The Resort at Paws Up (Montana) — luxury glamping meets real adventure. For the family or couple who wants five-star comfort with a side of adrenaline. Paws Up Montana

🦬 Vermejo (New Mexico) — hundreds of thousands of acres of wilderness and wildlife. For anyone craving wide-open space and total escape. Vermejo

🌄 C Lazy U (Colorado) — the classic all-inclusive guest ranch where my love affair began. Sunrise rides, the feed wagon, and the Jingle (if you know, you know 🥲). For families who want the real, authentic ranch experience. C Lazy U Ranch

🏡 Brasada Ranch (Oregon) — a kid-friendly pool, horseback riding, golf for the grown-ups, and golf carts to zip around the resort. My top pick for multigen trips and families with kids of all ages. Brasada

🌾 Alisal (California) — classic ranch magic and pure nostalgia. For an easy, soul-filling escape close to home. Alisal Ranch

There’s something about ranch life that resets you. The rhythm of the animals, the quiet luxury, the connection to land and sky. It’s domestic travel, but it feels worlds away.

So I’ve decided: one ranch a year. For my clients, and for me.

And next on MY list? Brush Creek Ranch (Wyoming) and The Ranch at Rock Creek (Montana). 🤠 Brush Creek Ranch The Ranch At Rock Creek

📌 Save this for your bucket list.

✈️ Follow for more honest, been-there reviews.

💬 Which ranch is calling your name? And if you’ve been to Brush Creek or Rock Creek, tell me everything 👇
