This week started off on a very sad and heavy note, with the loss of Kenya’s and perhaps Africa’s largest female Tusker.
According to KWS DIDA died of old age as she was estimated to have lived for 60-65 years.
DIDA was an Iconic matriarch of Tsavo and also an Iconic tourist attraction.

Let’s take it back to the 18th of June 2022.
Nairobis National Park Iconic Lion know as Sirikoi died at the age of eight years.
Sirikoi was born in Jan 2014 in Sosian Valley (Laikipia County). He came from one of the dominant pride, the MF family.
Sirikoi was very tactical and had amazing hunting skills; he could take down big preys like giraffes and buffaloes by himself.
Sirikoi died of health complications 💔. May his spirit live on in his offsprings that he has left behind.
Sirikoi will be immortalized at the National Museum of Kenya as an Icon of the Nairobi National Park.

You all remember Tolstoy. Our Majestic big Tusker in Amboseli. It’s sad to say that he is no more gracing the plains of Amboseli.

Born in 1971, Tolstoy died at the age of 51 years. He was a living natural wonder with its long long ivory that swept the grass beneath his feet. Tolstoy was one of the very few remaining big Tuskers in Africa. He succumbed to a spear wound that was inflicted about six weeks ago on his front leg.
He was treated at the time and monitored but unfortunately complications from the wound weakened his condition. We lost him on the 27th of April 2022.
Amboseli will greatly miss this Majestic animal 💔💔💔
