A penguin swims thousands of miles every year to visit the man who saved its life 🐧❤️
In Brazil, a retired fisherman named João Pereira de Souza found a Magellanic penguin covered in oil and near death back in 2011. He cleaned it up, fed it, and nursed it back to health. When the penguin was well enough, João released it back into the wild.
But the penguin, now known as Dindim, had other plans.
Every year since, Dindim has returned—swimming thousands of miles—to spend several months with the man who once saved his life. He waddles right up to João, follows him around, and lets him pick him up like an old friend.
It’s a rare and beautiful friendship between man and wild animal. Proof that kindness leaves a lasting mark, even across oceans. 🌊🐧💙
