Eight years ago today, on March 8, I walked out of my corporate office… and a few weeks later I was stacking firewood on a farm in northern Japan. 🌿

The logs were heavier than they looked, my hands were sore, and by the end of the day I could barely feel my arms — not exactly something my office life had prepared me for. 💪

But that was exactly the point.

I didn’t leave to become a farmer or to collect travel highlights. I left to see what would happen if I chose curiosity over comfort for a while.

To step outside the structure of corporate life.
To be humble enough to sleep on a café floor if needed. 🛋️
To trade a keyboard for physical work.
To find out where my limits really were — and how far they could stretch.

That farm stay was when the journey truly began. Not sightseeing, but living. Slower, simpler, closer to people and the world around me.🌏

And somewhere between the wood piles, shared meals and long conversations, I realized: the best journeys start the moment you step outside the life you thought you had to live. ✨

Eight years later, I’m writing this from Sri Lanka, where I now run my own tour business and continue building a life far away from the office I once thought I needed.

Looking back, the biggest limits weren’t practical ones.
Most of them were in my head.

And sometimes I wonder if we’ve been taught to believe that the safe path is the successful one.

Maybe the real freedom is simply having the courage to choose your own path — even when it doesn’t make sense on paper.✨

📌 Save this itinerary for your Angkor, Cambodia trip!

🛕 3-Day Angkor Wat Itinerary🇰🇭
Did you know that the Angkor Archaeological Park in Cambodia covers a vast area of around 400 km², whereas Angkor Wat covers only 1.63 km²?

While you can snap the selfies in just half day, I’d recommended a minimum of 3 full days to visit the most important sights.

🌅Day 1: Sunrise + Small Circuit
✔️ Sunrise at Angkor Wat - even in the low season, expect crowds. Plan to arrive by 5:00 am at Angkor Wat.
✔️ Bayon Temple - smiling faces and intricate carvings.
✔️ Baphuon Temple
✔️ Terrace of the L***r King & Elephants (again stunning carvings)
✔️ Victory Gate & Gate of the Dead
✔️ Time permitting finish at Phnom Bakheng (sunset spot, 15 mins hike)

This day will be a very long one. You can spend the evening in town & grab some local food at the night market.

🌸 Day 2: The Pink Temple & Wild Temples
This day is perfect for adventure lovers!

✔️ Banteay Srei (amazingly detailed carvings) - plan to arrive by 7-7:30 am.
Afterwards, visit one of these two temples with a bit of hike in nature:
🌿 Phnom Kulen National Park (untamed jungle) - seasonally closed due to high water levels.
⛰️ Kbal Spean (River Temple)

You can be back at the hotel by 2-3pm, relax a bit and
🍽️ End your day with a magical Apsara Dance Dinner Show at the state theater!

🏯 Day 3: Big Circuit Adventure
✔️ Ta Prohm (Tomb Raider Temple), arrive by 7 am.
✔️ Preah Khan (jungle vibes)
✔️ Neak Pean (island temple) & Nokor Thum
✔️ Ta Som (tree gate temple)
✔️ East Mebon & Pre Rup
✔️ if not done on day 1, Phnom Bakheng (sunset spot), or anything else you missed.

Get yourself a 3-Day Angkor Pass, hire a tuktuk driver (DM for recommendation), and enjoy the insanely beautiful ancient sites🛕
