NEW CHANGES TO eTA ELIGIBLITY FOR INDONESIAN AND MALAYSIAN NATIONALS 28 MAY 2026

Some citizens of Indonesia and Malaysia may now be eligible to apply for an electronic travel authorization (eTA) instead of a visitor visa when travelling to Canada by air.

As of May 26, 2026, you may be eligible for an eTA if you meet certain requirements, including if you:

held a Canadian visitor visa in the past 10 years, or have a valid United States non-immigrant visa

If you already have a valid visitor visa, you can continue to use it to travel to Canada until it expires.
