Today, Nepal grieves with a heavy heart. We have lost not only one of the world’s greatest mountaineers but also a true son of the Himalayas. Alongside Nirmal “Nims” Purja, we mourn the ten brave souls whose lives were devoted to the mountains they loved.
Nims Dai was more than a record-breaking climber. He was a symbol of determination, humility, and the unbreakable spirit of Nepal. Through his extraordinary achievements, he showed the world that nothing is impossible. Every climber who dares to chase a summit, every young person who refuses to give up, and every Nepali who carries our flag with pride will continue their legacy.
Rest in eternal peace, Nims Dai, and the ten courageous souls who journeyed beside you. Though your earthly expedition has come to an end, your names will forever stand taller than the highest mountains. You have left behind not only remarkable achievements but also an enduring legacy of courage, resilience, and hope.
