๐Ÿ’™ A special evening on Lake Whakatipu, all for a great cause.

On Saturday 5 September, the iconic TSS Earnslaw will cruise across Lake Whakatipu to Walter Peak for an evening of dinner, live entertainment, auctions and fundraising in support of local mountain community member Cam Mitchell.

Cam, Cardrona x Treble Coneโ€™s Mountain Sales Manager and a familiar face to many around Queenstown and the Southern Lakes, was paralysed following an accident in February. After four months in hospital, Cam is now continuing his recovery through rehabilitation and is fundraising to attend a specialist recovery centre in Australia.

This special evening is a chance to enjoy a memorable night aboard the TSS Earnslaw while coming together to support Cam on his recovery journey. โค๏ธ

Many roads across the network have been affected by the significant winter storm we experienced yesterday and overnight. While roading crews are spread across multiple sites throughout the district, here's what we know so far:
๐Ÿšง Gorge Road, Queenstown
The road is now open to one lane following an overnight closure. Please expect delays as traffic is let through. Alternative route for Arthurs Point via Malaghans Road > Dalefield, but watch out for surface flooding.
๐Ÿšง One Mile Roundabout, Queenstown
A lot of surface flooding following a washout last night, the road is currently down to one lane with traffic management in place.
๐Ÿšง Glenorchy-Queenstown Road
Closed between One Mile Roundabout and Sunshine Bay turn-off due to a slip last night. Alternative route over Fernhill Road available.
๐Ÿšง Rees Valley Road, Glenorchy
Closed due to flooding and debris.
๐Ÿšง Mount Aspiring Road, Wฤnaka
Open, but a slip is at the 9km mark. Whilst it's passable, please drive with care as there is a vehicle stuck in the slip which we hope to clear sometime today.
๐Ÿšง Various Roads, Upper Clutha
Surface flooding is present on various roads throughout the Upper Clutha including (but not limited to) Sir Tim Wallis Drive, Ballantyne Road, Cemetery Road, Gladstone Road and Camphill Road.
๐Ÿšง SH6 Makarora-Hฤwea
NZTA is advising this section of road is closed due to multiple slips. We'll provide an update when we get one, otherwise check in on NZTA channels.
๐Ÿšง SH6 Luggate
Surface flooding and scouring present, but road is open to both lanes.
Please drive with extreme care today and avoid driving through any flood waters. We'll continue to update this post as we receive more information. If you spot any urgent issues on the roads, please call 03 441 0499.

We were lucky enough to get our team out to experience Skippers Canyon Jet firsthand, and what a ride it was.

A huge thank you to the team at Skippers Canyon Jet for looking after us and sharing one of Queenstownโ€™s most iconic experiences. Racing through the narrow Shotover River canyons, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and rich gold mining history, this is an absolute must-do for anyone visiting the region.

Itโ€™s easy to see why this is such a favourite. Incredible scenery, expert drivers and a proper adrenaline rush all in one unforgettable trip.

If Skippers Canyon is on your list, come and chat with our team. Weโ€™ve done it, we love it, and we can help you book the best option for your trip.

Recently our team got the chance to experience the Kawarau Swing and itโ€™s safe to sayโ€ฆ this is the perfect level of adventure.

Not quite ready to take the plunge with a bungy? The swing gives you all the thrill, speed and incredible views without having to jump yourself. Itโ€™s a seriously fun way to step outside your comfort zone and get an incredible rush. You can do it by yourself or with two or three people so it's the perfect experience to share the excitement with someone.

A huge thank you to the team at AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand for looking after us and showing us why this is such a must-do Queenstown experience.

If youโ€™re looking for something really exciting but not too extreme, come chat to our team. Weโ€™ve tried it, we know it, and we can get you booked in with confidence
