We understand that recent media coverage of the “Middle East” may feel concerning from some travellers. It is essential to understand that this is a broad region spanning many countries, and it’s important to clarify that Egypt is not involved in current conflicts. Egypt has no US bases. Its travel advisory level has remained stable and low for over 18 months—like other popular destinations such as the UK.

Innovative Travel is a trusted, award-winning tour operator with over 35 years’ experience in Egypt. Client comfort and assurance remain our highest priorities. Travel within Egypt is continuing as normal, and we are fully supported by our long-standing local team, led by our Cairo-based Director, Elhamy ElZayat. As clients are confirmed on primarily private holidays, all arrangements are continuing, whilst being well looked after by our dedicated staff across Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Alexandria, Abu Simbel, and Hurghada.

To provide further confidence, Innovative Travel founder and Managing Director, Robyn Galloway, will shortly be travelling to Egypt, arriving in Cairo on 14 April. She will be visiting many Egypt highlights, including the Pyramids and the new Grand Egyptian Museum.

Travel Update – Middle East Airspace & Airline Operations

Here’s the latest for anyone with upcoming travel through the Middle East:
• Emirates is planning to operate their schedules up to 27th March, with daily reviews.
• Etihad has a policy in place up to 19th March for flights departing before 21st March.
• Qatar Airways is closely monitoring the situation with a policy in place until 22nd March.

Flights are operating on selected routes using safe corridors, and airlines will only fly when it has been deemed safe.

I will continue to update you as more information comes in. As usual, if we haven’t touched base and you are concerned about your travel, please reach out directly to me at [email protected].

Please note that we can only work with the small operational windows provided by airlines. Anything outside of this will be subject to standard cancellation fees.

You may also start seeing fuel surcharge increases from some airlines, so planning ahead for your next trip is essential.

Remember, there are many airlines operating, and this situation will pass. Travel remains possible, and we’re here to help navigate it safely.
