On the second day of the Lares Trek, the landscape unfolds into a breathtaking display of nature’s finest contrasts. Glistening lagoons mirror the deep blue sky above, while snow-capped peaks loom in the distance, their white mantles sharply defined against the crisp Andean air. The silence is broken only by the gentle breeze rustling through the ichu grass, creating a serene moment where the water, ice, and sky seem to blend into one living painting.

Reaching the Pass of Pachakuqteq offers a rewarding spectacle: from this high vantage point, the Sacred Valley of the Incas stretches out beneath a canopy of clouds. Herds of llamas and alpacas graze peacefully on the steep slopes, their woolly silhouettes dotting the green and golden pastures. As you catch your breath at the summit, the winding valley below reveals ancient agricultural terraces and remote villages, a timeless scene watched over by the Andean peaks and the gentle gaze of the native camelids.
