A 10-day trip through northern Pakistan can combine dramatic mountain scenery, alpine lakes, historic forts, and local culture. One of the most popular routes is through Gilgit-Baltistan.
Suggested 10-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Islamabad
* Pick up from the airport and going to the hotel
Day 2: Travel to Gilgit
* Fly to Gilgit (weather permitting) or drive via the Karakoram Highway
* Continue to Gilgit City
* Enjoy sunset views over the valley
Day 3: Explore Hunza

* Walk through Karimabad Bazaar
Day 4: Attabad Lake & Passu Cones
* Boat ride on Attabad Lake
* Stop at the Hussaini Suspension Bridge

* Visit the border with China (about 4,700 m elevation)

* Return to Hunza

Tips
* Domestic flights to Gilgit and Skardu are weather-dependent, so build in some flexibility.
* Roads are spectacular but involve long driving days.
* Carry warm layers even in summer, as nights in the mountains can be cold.
This itinerary offers a balanced mix of the region’s highlights without feeling too rushed. If you enjoy trekking, photography, or adventure, you could also replace Skardu with extra days in Hunza or add hikes around Fairy Meadows.
