For the last 28 years Travpol has been organizing special interest groups with unique programs around Poland. Travpol also cooperates with state institutions to promote jointly culture and heritage of Poland. One of the results of such cooperation is Open Air Event to promote and present Mennonite heritage in Torun area.
We are pleased to advise that Travpol is involved once again in an educational event at Mennonite Open Air Museum in Wielka Nieszawka/formerly Gross Nessau coming week Sunday September 6.

The Olender Ethnographic Park in Wielka Nieszawka near Toruń
invites for the outdoor event "At the Olender Neighbors' Place."
Once again, the lifestyles and living conditions of former residents in Vistula River villages at the turn of the 20th century will be presented in an engaging way. Participants will have the chance to experience the unique atmosphere of bustling Mennonite farmsteads, step into the shoes of villagers from the past, and try their hand at farm chores—such as digging up potatoes in the field.
Program highlights:
- potato harvesting
- farmstead tours
- workshops: floristry, gingerbread baking and decorating, ceramics, basket weaving, pottery, blacksmithing, paper making, and arts & crafts
- demonstrations of farm work: fence weaving, dairy processing
- rural playground: stilts, rocking horses, wooden clappers, etc.
- organic food and handicraft fair
- carriage rides around the open-air museum
- horseback riding with an instructor
- farm animals: calves, goats, sheep, and chickens
- food zone with homemade meals

You can reach us from Toruń via MZK bus (lines 151 and 152) or by bicycle path. Free parking is available for those arriving by car.
