Whether you’re ready to take that bucket list trip or just want a quick getaway, let’s make it happen! I’m Trina and I live in north Georgia with my teen son. I’m a details girl, so I’m happy to help with everything from finding the best glacier for dog sledding in Alaska, to the most delicious shrimp trucks on the North Shore of O’ahu, and even how to see Rome in a day! Some of my favorite trips to help plan are honeymoons and anniversaries, group travel, European trips, Disney Cruises, as well as those unique and exciting destinations! While 2020 wasn’t what anyone was expecting, I was still able to travel to Las Vegas, Aruba, Costa Rica and Walt Disney World! I can’t wait to see where 2021 takes me! If you’re a golf fan or follow golf at all, then you’re probably familiar with St Andrews, Scotland but have you heard of Doolin Pitch and Putt in Doolin, Ireland? We aren’t golfers by any means, however we noticed this course when walking back to town and it looked like so much fun!! So naturally, we had to drop everything and play 18 holes! ⛳️

Let me tell you, this isn’t mini golf with windmills 🤣 it’s a legit Irish links course shrunk down to size, complete with real grass, tricky sandy bunkers, thick fescue “rough” and Wild Atlantic Coastal winds BUT you only need two clubs!! It was absolutely the cherry on top of an already epic day!!

What?! Kids Sail Free in SUMMER?! 🤯

If you've been following me for any length of time, then you know I don't usually post "deals." I’d much rather share beautiful destinations or stories from my own travels BUT Royal Caribbean just did something so rare I had to break my own rule. 🚢

They just launched a Kids Sail Free promo that actually includes peak SUMMER (May – August 2027). You read that right, SUNMER. Usually, summer is strictly blacked out. If you've been dreaming of taking the family to Alaska or island hopping the Caribbean when school is out, this is a total game changer.

On many itineraries, they even dropped the age limit, meaning 3rd and 4th guests sail free regardless of age (perfect for teens or grandparents!) Because it’s a rare exception, the booking window is tiny and closes this Monday, September 14. Our crew loves island hopping in the Caribbean! Let’s face it y’all, some countries are a bit more “proper” than the US! Here we have Jared being super proper while trying my macchiato ☕️ pinky out as it should be but he decided to be “extra” proper and add another finger 😂 The coffee shops in Edinburgh were absolutely fantastic and literally 3 on every corner! Ahhh I was in heaven.

I promise we will stop posting about our journey across Ireland and Scotland soon, but today is not that day 🤣😂 but seriously, I know not everyone is interested in these destinations but we always try to share as much detail as possible from our adventures. But also, why would you NOT want to visit Ireland or Scotland?!?

Let’s talk breakfast, I’m usually not a breakfast person (except on vacation) and I’m certainly not a hotel breakfast person. They’re usually either very expensive or free and you get cereal and make your own waffles. Not in Ireland and Scotland! We booked a mix of nicer hotels and B&Bs and only two hotels didn’t include breakfast in their pricing. But look at these meals! They were incredible!! I didn’t take pics every day but the hotels generally had a buffet as well as a menu to order from and the B&Bs had a menu to choose from. I absolutely LOVE sausage links in Ireland and Scotland whereas I NEVER eat them at home. The difference is crazy. Plus you had a fully set table with your choice of coffee or tea, juices, breads, jellies, etc all before your actual meal!!

Waiting to enter my Royal Residence. 👸 🏰 I seem to be locked out by mistake 🤣

We didn’t have time to tour Holyrood Palace because of dinner and the Military Tattoo but I highly recommend it if you get the chance! Mary, Queen of Scots, rooms are open for public viewing and for a very limited time, the private rooms of Queen Elizabeth II are open as well. Holyrood was her official Scottish residence.

The month of August brings the Fringe Festival as well as the Military Tattoo to the city of Edinburgh. While the Fringe was a bonus, we were super excited about the Tattoo and booked months in advance because it sells out quickly. It was absolutely incredible and I highly recommend getting castle facing seats if possible however, I’m certain there isn’t a bad seat in the house!

I’m not sure if y’all know it or not but we’ve spent the last two weeks exploring Ireland and Scotland! (Sarcasm, of course y’all know 🤣) This was a non work trip for me which is rare but I’m glad we took the time. With that being said, we are back and I spent yesterday catching up on emails. If I had you on my schedule for this week, rest assured you will be hearing from me. Also, who’s ready to visit Ireland or Scotland now?!? 🇮🇪 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
