Before this trip, life felt like it had become schedules, notifications, deadlines, and trying to squeeze quality time into whatever space was left over.
Then came Portugal.
The early flights, staying awake for what felt like 18+ hours, navigating train stations with language barriers, double checking routes from Lisbon to Porto, and hoping all the planning would actually turn into the kind of trip we imagined.
But somewhere between the wine tastings, the walks through Porto, and sitting near the water watching the boats pass by, things started to slow down.
And honestly, I think that’s what I’ll remember most.
Not just the views or the wine — but how present we felt.
Letting someone else drive us around wine country.
Learning more about wine together.
Walking everywhere with no real rush to get anywhere.
Stopping at scenic overlooks just because we could.
Sitting quietly near the water without needing to fill the silence.
It reminded me that some of the best parts of traveling together aren’t the “big” moments.
It’s realizing that after all the planning, exhaustion, and figuring things out as you go… you created memories you’ll talk about years later.
And somehow, Porto made all of it feel simple again. 💕
