🚨 Traveller Alert – December 2025

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has released an update on safety measures along the Thai–Cambodia border. Increased security, curfews, and temporary closures are in place only in certain border districts.

All major tourist destinations — Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi, Ayutthaya, Pattaya, Koh Samui — remain safe and fully operational. Flights, hotels, and tours continue as normal.

If guests plan to visit border provinces such as Sa Kaeo, Surin, Si Sa Ket, Ubon Ratchathani, Buri Ram, Chanthaburi, or Trat, please follow local guidance and avoid restricted zones.

Your safety is our priority, and Trikaya is monitoring updates closely.

Our family of six (6) travelled to Bangkok for my Aunt's 72nd Birthday. This was a surprise for her. Even if she had difficulty walking, our trip was comfortable and easy because of our tour guide -- Mr. Kitti. 🙏

We booked for Temple Tours (Nov 10) and Ayyuthaya (Nov 11). Mr. Kitti made sure that every time Aunt will transfer between the van and her wheelchair, she is safe. Mr. Kitti finds ways for good wheelcahir access and even finds elevators, ramps and smooth road for Aunt. He is an expert in Thai history and culture. We learned a lot. He even takes good photos of our group! We will never forget him saying, "How are you, mommy?" to our Aunt. The way he also pushes my Aunt's wheelchair especially on ramps. He looks like a nurse. When Mr. Kitti learned that the Chao Phraya Dinner Cruise was a surprise for my Aunt, Mr. Kitti even helped us queue Aunt beside the boat without her noticing it. He is so funny but genuinely kind hearted.

Southern Thailand is now facing very heavy floods. The rain volume is extremely high and the high seas make the water drain slowly.
In Songkhla, the flood is 0.5–2.5 meters deep, and Hat Yai had 335 mm of rain in one day — the heaviest in 300 years.
