In Swahili they call her Duma – one who moves with grace and speed. The fastest land animal one earth, she can reach speeds of up to 100km/h in a matter of seconds, thanks to her flexible spine that allows her to cover 7 to 8m in a single stride. Her powerful heart, large lungs and nostrils allow for explosive acceleration while her large muscular tail acts as a rudder and allows her to make sharp turns at high speed without losing pace. To see the speed and precision of a Duma in full chase is nothing short of breath taking 🐆
