The 1st Annual Blue Ridge Beer Festival is taking over Blue Ridge Beer Garden on Saturday, May 30, 2026, bringing together more than 20 incredible breweries for one unforgettable day of craft beer, live music, great food, and mountain-town vibes.

This isn't just another beer festival—it's a celebration of everything that makes the Western North Carolina beer scene special. You'll find hometown favorites like Whistle Hop Brewing Co., Lookout Brewing Company, and Oklawaha Brewing Company pouring alongside some of the biggest names in craft beer, including Wicked W**d Brewing, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Other Half Brewing, Fonta Flora Brewery, and Lawson's Finest Liquids.

Expect rare pours, barrel-aged beers, special releases, and plenty of opportunities to discover your next favorite brew.

đŸŽ¶ Live music kicks off with The Apple Country String Band from 1:30–3:30 PM, followed by Phuncle Sam's Grateful Dead tribute from 4–7 PM. Food trucks will be serving all day, and the event is dog-friendly, so bring your crew and make a day of it.

VIP guests get in at 1 PM with access to 25 exclusive additional taps and a curated gift bag. General Admission begins at 2 PM.

AB(C) Tech Goes From Classrooms to Craft Spirits

For one day, Asheville's A-B Tech might need a temporary name change: AB(C) Tech.

No, the college isn't opening a state-run liquor store. But when the WNC Whiskey Festival rolls in on Saturday, May 30, the campus conference center is going to feel a whole lot like North Carolina's biggest ABC store — minus the checkout lines and fluorescent lighting, and plus 40+ distilleries, tastings, and whiskey enthusiasts who actually want to be there.

The event is being hosted with support from Explore Asheville, Buncombe County's tourism organization, funded through occupancy tax revenue from overnight visitors. The mission is simple: attract visitors, generate activity, support local businesses, and keep building the kind of experiences that put Asheville on people's travel lists.

It's a virtuous cycle, really. Visitors fill hotel rooms. Hotel taxes fund tourism. Tourism supports events. Events bring more visitors.

Asheville built its national reputation on craft beer, shaping the region's food, beverage, and tourism identity for years. Now whiskey and craft distilling are finding their own foothold in Western North Carolina's ever-growing beverage scene.

Beer may still be Asheville's most famous pour — but for one afternoon, A-B Tech becomes AB(C) Tech.

We don’t talk about this part enough

The constant juggling.
Work, schedules, meals, responsibilities
and somewhere in there, trying to hold onto a little bit of yourself.

As parents, even something as simple as going out can feel complicated. You want a place where your kids feel welcome—but also somewhere you can breathe for a moment too.

And that’s where Asheville quietly gets it right.

Around here, breweries have become something more than just a place to grab a drink. They’ve turned into spaces where families can exist together—kids playing freely, parents slowing down just enough to reconnect, whether there’s a beer in hand or not.

Because sometimes it’s not about the drink

It’s about the moment.

If you’re looking for spots that work for both you and your kids, this is a good place to start: https://hikecookshare.com/kid-friendly-breweries-in-asheville/

Have you been by Oklawaha Brewing Company lately?

We stopped in for a quick brew and went straight for the Love Hendo IPA — and yep
 still hits every time đŸ”„

With Spring officially here, it’s time to get out, soak up some sun, and actually enjoy these beautiful mountain days. And honestly, Oklawaha is one of those spots that just makes it easy — good beer, great vibe, and right in the heart of downtown.

Whether you’re meeting friends, taking a break from Main Street, or just chasing that perfect pint
 this is your sign!

What are you drinking when you stop by? đŸș

Welcome to Thailand’s Koh Phi Phi island, where the Reggae Bar said, “What if happy hour
but make it violence?” There’s no cover charge, no tickets, not even a waiver you probably should’ve signed. Just a ring, a crowd, and one simple offer: fight a stranger for a free bucket of beer.

That’s it. That’s the business model.

Tourists—who moments ago were debating mojitos vs. margaritas—suddenly decide, “Yeah
I could fight.” Next thing you know, they’re in full protective gear throwing one-minute haymakers while a crowd of strangers cheers like it’s the main event.

The prize? A free drink, questionable life choices, and elite-level bragging rights.

Win or lose, everyone gets a medal
which is a nice way of saying, “Congrats, you survived your vacation.”

It’s chaotic. It’s ridiculous. It’s the only place where “one more round” means something VERY different.

And somehow
 people keep lining up 😅

West Asheville just hits different

it’s the energy. The laid-back vibe, the creativity, the mix of locals and newcomers all finding their place here.

That’s where All Sevens Brewing comes in ✹

Asheville didn’t become Beer City USA by accident—and places like this are a big reason why. It’s not about being the biggest or the loudest
it’s about creating a space where people can show up, relax, and connect.

And honestly? That’s what keeps people coming back.

So next time you’re in West Asheville, stop by, grab a pint, and stay awhile—you might just find your new favorite spot đŸș

There’s an old proverb that says just about anything you want it to say. đŸș😂

“Where there is a will
 there is a way.”
“Early to bed, early to rise
”
“Measure twice, cut once
”

But here in Asheville, we’ve translated it a little differently:

“When in doubt
 grab a stout.”
“A day without beer is like
just kidding, I have no idea.”
“He who hesitates
 loses the last IPA.”

There’s definitely an old proverb about supporting local breweries. We’re pretty sure that’s in there somewhere.

So what’s YOUR proverb, Asheville?
